Robin

Met Skeggsy at Donington, and had a long chat with him. Really nice bloke. He has his 1.9K in giving 250hp, which he and Steve Butts built together. He was sidelined like me from the track, in his case with a leaking brake hose.

When SteveB's engine blew, as he had a hillclimb event the next day, they took his engine out overnight and put in Skeggsy's, Steve won his Class, and then they swapped it back again for Skeggsy's event.

Seems some confusion as to whether he actually won his Class at Donnie, he is ahead of Steve Williams in the final table at 5th, yet they say that Williams was the winner of Class B.

The handicap race did not go down at all well with the spectators, as no body, including the commentators, knew what was going on.

And if one more of them on SELCOC says it was bloody freezing again, I shall scream.

Paul posted the results as:

Agreed that Skeggsy is in Class B as is Steve W, so reported wrong.

Very good showing for the K's then! And it would seem that the mechanicals were one a piece :-)

Cheers,
Robin

Results for race two are now online

All I can say is what a fantastic experience it was. Have a read of my report if you want a loose a few minutes out of your life.

Was good to see Kelvin yesterday and spoke to Neil on the phone.

My trustly old shed made it round in a 2nd hand engine that was FOC :D

Graham,

Good write up - glad it all went well - any progress on the coolant issue?

Racing and track days are so different aren't they!!

Cheers,
Robin

Cheers Robin

Not checked the car since getting home yesterday, but it was fine for the other 2 races.

I am totally drained. I feel the same as when I cycled from Oxford to Cambridge - that is how knackered I am.

So, that's one of them up in flames, a Honda. And the other one was?

Ahhh, but a Super Charged Turbo Technics one, not many of those and as far from standard as it can be.

Still, one and one.
And just how many NA Hondas were at the front? ;) :P

I posted something on seloc about this, but i cant be arsed getting into an argument with you on here, so will not comment.

I have seen what bickering over engines does to SE, so dont want to restart it.

Uldis - keep a lid on it mate - it's a boring argument and nobody's got any interest in starting it again.....
