Well if we do move, someone's gonna get a heated, insulated garage with an inbuilt engine lifting beam, telephone connection to the house (for tea requests  )and separate aerial for F1 watching without leaving the garage!

When i was buying a house i wanted a garage - no arguments.

But at the end of the day the house is more important, so i compromised.

VX has sat outside for 2 and a bit years without a problem.

(in saying all this i'm now looking for a bachelor pad and won't consider anywhere without parking  )
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

I had no garage for all my Elise/Exige owning life. I did have lots of nice friends with garages/industrial units/motorsport facilities/'secret motorspot facilities' etc.

That said, next house will have a garage... :)

Would it be cheaper just to move out?!?!?!

Couldn't do without I'm afraid... double garage, automatic doors, I've got an American Styleee Fridge Freezer in mine, beer & cornetto's mmm. Not heated, but the boiler is in the garage so some heat from that.

Door leads straight on to the kitchen for some fast pizza action, and then on to the pool room where all my Optics are...

Lovin' it.

No garage, just 'private' parking space for me too.

Managed to change pads and disks and exhaust okay, plus a few other wee bits and pieces. Do have a support vehicle for keeping tools etc in though, and a work work-shop for storage etc, though, which makes thing easier.

But do fancy the idea of a fully kitted, heated, tv'd garage, with a fridge

Just bought another house (not moved in yet) and a garage was a must

My current castle has a lock up round the corner, which is OK but far from ideal, whereas the new abode has a double tandem garage which is wide enough to open doors on both sides of the uberbarge

I intend on keeping the trailer in there (with Snot atop) and the RS6 at the front, SWMBO's Modus can languish out in the street somewhere :P

It all comes down to your personal balance of how much you love the house (sounds like lots) with how could you get on without a garage?

Would it be possible to get planning to build a garage?

Not enough space, but being next to a farm there might be some spare land going. Looks like the new house is a goer, so the Fiat 127 may have to go eventually.

I actually have 5 single car garages as well as the Facility

and I did design the Facility to easily convert to a 1 bedroom house for the next owners, (not that I'm ever likely to meet them ;) )and it's only for maintenance purposes not parking.

Best use for a parking garage IMHO is as DDtB said, and that's roofless parking, so that the roof is off before you start any journey, even if it's raining :)

No garage here

Just the top secret facility

Though i think it might be overused as some bloke came in recently to get the seats reupholstered in his kit car. Which is a strange request considering the real purpose of the facility.

However my next place will be a garage with a house attached and no neighbours for miles i hope

thats because you live at altitude and need somewhere to store food for the winter :D
