Oooh, I'll have one of those too :)

Cask strength batch 1 is selling fast too... Batch 2 on the way already.

That's one bought to drink and one (hopefully) to sell in the future.

And i've still got to pay my storage charges to Berry Brothers and Rudd (well it's better than investing in paintings i suppose  )

I bought one for drinking. Fantastic value for money for a single cask and it doesn't get better than PX puncheon!
If I had the money I would have bought 2 as with it being a TWE exclusive it might gain value. Vintage Glendronachs aren't making mega money at the moment but the distillery is gaining momentum and popularity, Ben Riach are doing good things with the distillery since taking it over in 2008. And I know there are a few more fans since our whisky night!
Batch 1 Cask strengths might make an interesting long term investment but it will be at least 10 years before we find out. Keep a batch 1 and drink a batch 2 :D

Also I should add, from a totally geeky point, 1995 was one of the last years that Glendronach malted their own barley and at this time the still were still directly heated by coal fires rather than indirect steam. Facts for the day

What difference does the heating method make? Genuine interested question.

I think it's part of the character of the whisky. A direct coal heated still isn't going to be quite a controllable as a precise steam on off still. The coal fires take time to heat and cool and will therefore have an effect on the internal temperatures with some fluctuation and so the weights of vapours will be slightly different, changing the character for better or worse but it's still a big part of this distillery's history as it was one of the last to give it up.

So romance Vs control. Manual Vs DSG?

Did you try the '95 last night?
