Re: Zenos
The cars were not well enough built.
I guess warranty support was crippling.
Concept great though. A very near miss

I hope not!
I've been up close with a Zenos. Cool car but it's no Elise...

I bet they will be worth a mint in years to come when they fall into the classic era and we will be kicking our self's.

I've heard chat the business plan was the E10 would prove the chassis concept and create capital to do the expensive stuff (doors, roofs, etc) for the next model. Start of with something that'd appeal to the hardcore and build a buzz.ScottJ-PS wrote:Very limited market. A car with no doors or roof is no use to me living in Raintown. Apart from hardcore track days enthusiasts i'd imagine 95% of buyers would take an Elise with weather protection .
Having had a go of Kenny's round KH, I think they kinda lost the plan somewhere - it actually rode pretty well and felt much more of a road car than a track special (if you ignore the lack of windscreen etc) Even the power delivery would really suit it in the road environment and I'm sure it was brilliant fun on the road. It drives more Elise than Caterham.
I can't help but think if they made the original E10 a much more hairy-arsed track car, or if they'd made some concessions to road comfort (a windscreen that was on it from the beginning and didn't look stolen off a mini moke, plus a rudimentary emergency roof) then it would have made more sense, but it was positioned somewhere in the middle of two worlds with the disadvantages of both.

Cashflow and EU parts costs post Brexit will have hastened the downfall - you can have as many orders as you like but if they don't pay upfront or on wholesale funding....!

I couldn't agree more with Shug on this - I felt it was a bit soft for the track, but could see how it would have been an OK road car if it had a non moke window and a boxster spyder type roof,Shug wrote:I've heard chat the business plan was the E10 would prove the chassis concept and create capital to do the expensive stuff (doors, roofs, etc) for the next model. Seemed to miss the mark a bit, not aggressive enough for the track and not useful enough for the road.
its a shame tho because I really like the concept and original price point.
Re: Zenos
Kind of agree...
Really never understood what they were trying to aim at?
it was not good enough to be a trackday car or a road car, they seem to have tried to build a jack-of-all and ended up with a blancmange.
As said, it's no Elise, had nothing new/revolutionary about it, so was doomed from the go, you only have to look at Caterhams efforts to come up with a new car over the last 20+ years to realise it's really not that easy.
