Yea, I know the adjustment you mean. It more Anna's legs - they seem to have taken a growing spurt. She is getting a bit cramped for her legs in it just now, no biggy at the moment, but at the rate she seems to be growing, it won't be long till it starts to become more of an issue, so may as well start planning the next move.Shug wrote:Dom - saying this because I know we've got the same car seat - are you sure you've adjusted it as high as the shoulder straps will go? Just asking as I know Thomas is a long baby and I've just extended ours to the biggest position - seems like there's lots of headroom still in it.

Any views on high back seats over booster seats as R can probably come out of his Maxi Tobi.
Also anyone know of 4 point harness friendly baby seats for the 340?

On 1, main diff is high backs retain something for their wee heads to rest on when they crash out. With booster "cushions", they tend to slump or loll a bit
Apols, we just sold our MINI branded ones!
On 2, I have absolutely no idea!

Millie used a high back seat in the Elise until she was 10? maybe 9? Her bum just tended to fall down the back of the booster seat and just found the full seat more comfortable. (In car seatbelt though).

Is there scope to fit a conventional seat belt in 340rr?
Re: SE Baby thread NLC
The recaro start is great and may work with the 4 points. I have a couple if you want to try them.
If you're not living on the edge you're wasting too much space!
Re: SE Baby thread NLC
Next on our radar is a bike trailer for the baby.
First question (as I can't seem to find the answer elsewhere). From what age can you put a baby in a bike trailer?
Second, is there one that is prefered / recommended? (I think we are probably after one that has suspension, and can convert into a stroller). I quite like the look of this; http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001DJ86US/r ... 9RI4N3L81O
Third, Does anyone on SE happen to have a redundant trailer sitting around that they might with to exchange for some beer tokens?
TIA

Used a bike trailer for Millie since she was old enough to hold up her own head. Fill it with teddys and books.
It is the best gift we ever got. unfortunately I've since converted it into a cargo trailer. (And then never used). Ours didn't have suspension, but had a cloth seat. Croozer are nice but expensive.

Re: SE Baby thread NLC
Not yet. Looked at quite a few on line. Was thinking about something like this; http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001DJ86US/r ... 9RI4N3L81O
From my house, I cycle on quiet country roads for a couple of miles in order to reach cycle paths and cycle routes. Although these roads are quiet (typically see 2 or 3 cars in 2 miles) I am not entirely comfortable with having the baby in a trailer with traffic. Moreover, the Mrs is not sure about that aspect of it. Which would mean, I would need to drive to the cycle routes, which would mean I would need to get bike racks for the car. Requires more thought / discussion with Mrs S.
Edit - just realized that I had posted that link previously.

Re: SE Baby thread NLC
Yeah, not 100% sure myself if it would get used.
Halfords have a sale on these:
http://www.halfords.com/cycling/accesso ... ke-trailer
http://www.halfords.com/cycling/accesso ... ke-trailer
and they seem to have decent reviews for the money. While I've put off buying a more expensive option, I'm tempted to just bite the bullet with one of those and see how it works out. If it never gets used, it's much less of a dent in the pocket. If it gets used a lot, I can see what the good and bad design bits are and use that as a requirements list for a replacement.

Re: SE Baby thread NLC
I recall our debate over lunch, Dom
As you know, we held out til about 12 mths old then went for a bike seat. Had many miles of fun and adventure with each (and both, for a while...Eilidh always seemed to be on mine for some reason...!)
Not sure if you will get enough versatility out of a trailer?
Whilst we didn't ride masses on road with the seats, we were more confident to do so as the kids are up high, rigidly attached to you, and not creating a long poorly visible vehicle. Although you can always fit a flag
