Tony, I'd be up for doing the Glendronach tour, would need to try and tie it in with a half day, Wednesdays usually better as Rachelle is usually off then so we could have a driver!

Also if you are a "friend of Glengoyne" they are currently offering the new teapot dram 2 for £49.99 as opposed to £59.99
If it's anywhere near as good as batch 1 it will be well worth it.

Was in Tesco today and saw Glendronach Revival - anybody tried it?

They also had Laphroaig Quarter cask at £30 ish? - no idea if that's a good price for it.

It's a personl favourite of mine and I know Graeme Fraser is also a fan. We did a side by side comparitive tasting of the 15y.o. revival with an old Teachers bottling 15. The difference was increadible but then there was about a 3x price difference as well. I think all these interesting whiskies are entering Tesco via Gordon & MacPhail

Yup. A pretty decent price and a fine dram. Worth a lot more IMO.
I used to see it regularly on offer for around £30, but it has been creeping up so I'd grab it at £30 if you can.

Lets do this soon. Next few weeks?

There's a distillery-only bottle I want, so will be going soon anyway. Would be good to do the full tour while there.

Monday should work. I provisionally said I'd pop down to Shug's on the bike on Monday, but I'm sure the good chap won't mind if I bump him to later in the week.

Same boat, i really enjoyed the one we had on our tasting night, was it the cask strength batch 1?
I bought a bottle of this after reading about the whisky tasting night - it was delicious.

Can't seem to find another bottle anywhere. Anyone know where I could pick one up?

Cheers,

Kenny

Hi Kenny, it was part of their annual releases. Every year they make a few cask selections to bottle as single cask releases. There will be a different, similar offering available I'm sure but you might struggle to get the same cask again. Glendronach only use PX or Olorosso casks so make sure you get the right one. Graeme and I both picked up 1990 PX bottles yesterday from the distillery for about £80, a real bargain for a single cask px whisky of that age. Happy hunting!

Aye, but picture evidence showed that your living room carpet benefited from most of it! :P
