50-60 quid or so. Is that this one?

If so that sounds fine unless you have anything better. Something from up North (he has a place adjacent to Tut Towers) or Isla (with which he has a connection). Or anywhere else

That's the one. You do realise there about 500 whiskies in that price range on Islay alone

Lagavulin distillers edition is just about budget and a bit more special than their usual bottlings or a 14y.o. Unpeated Caol Ila but that might be a bit of a hunt

I get the impression, there is a fine line between a hobby and being an alcoholic

I prefer the term "enthusiastic consumer " to alcoholic

Anyway I'm far too fussy and far too poor to afford to become an alcoholic

My motto: Drink better stuff, but less of it.
More often.

So I've just gone a bought a couple of bottles of Ealanta.
The theory is I may sell one at profit later - but if anyone in Aberdeen (or anyone I may see at Knockhill etc) wants one they can have it for what I paid for it.

http://www.scottishelises.com/phpbb/vie ... =7&t=37619
Happy to negotiate..
Also, with fear of loosing myself a deal, Tesco have Talisker and Bowmore for 25 quid a bottle, for those that like this stuff peaty, like me, isn't too bad at all.

So the 23 year old was delivered last night
http://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/P-22058.aspx
It may just be the best whisky I've ever tasted.
I don't know whether to thank Andrew for introducing me to Glendronach or curse him for the ever bigger hole in my finances
