Premier Bond 9/1
Vicente 8/1
Southfield Royale 10/1

Should be a great race at Ayr today ;)

With regards to the election:
BOOKIES last night made an SNP clean sweep of all 59 Scottish seats a 4/1 outside bet.

And, although the Nats are certain winners north of the Border, McBookie.com rate their share of the vote dipping below 2015’s staggering 50 per cent at 1/2.

Tories 1/16 to get the most seats. Not even a majority.

Easy money? I just don't see a world where that doesn't pay out. OK you're risking say, 32,000 but it's an easy 2k...

It's a strange world where a third rate politician gets such a massive majority.

You're clearly not a fan but third rate she ain't.

I agree

At stirring up anger and grievance she is head and shoulders above anyone else apart maybe farage.

Actually getting stuff done

Well

Care to tell us what she has managed to get passed through holyrood in the past 12 months?

And are you delighted at the actions she has taken to save people from the "TORY RAPE CLAUSE".

You are confusing me with a defender of the SNP.

I'm not even an SNP voter.

But to describe her as a third rate politician is mystifying. What's she achieved? She got a referendum on independence and might get another for starters. Which is her goal, and the goal of a large number of her supporters. It's not your goal, you mentioned that (and I understand why), but pleasing you isn't HER goal.

Farage has had a huge amount of influence on British Politics - a third rate politician he ain't. But I'm not a fan.

Sturgeon is first class at using anger and grievance to get elected

Brilliant at reducing complex arguments to a twitter hashtag

I think Sturgeon was in the right place at the right time. She didn't gat an Indy referendum - Salmond did. He walked when it was lost and didn't anticapte the SNP supporters being so fired up. Sturgeon inherited a movement at the top of its enthusiasm and made the most of it (good skills and good timing).
As a politician she ihas been out manouvered and show lacking in understanding. She is a good front man for the SNP and that is often confused with being a good politician. You only need to watch some of the better interviewrs destroying her to know she lacks a deeper understanding of the bigger picture.
My belief is Sturgeons biggest difficult is the vacuum of support behind her from the othe SNP MSPs

This is an interesting turn in the conversation. Does popularity make a good politician? I would have thought it makes a popular one.

In some circles, Sturgeon is a popular one, in others, not. It's a bit like Corbyn. Is he is good politician? In some circles, he is a popular one, in others, not so. But is he effective?

If we look at Sturgeon. She is certainly popular. But she has not been an effective leader of government. She has failed to pass bills and laws - in other words, she has failed to govern which is what you expect a politician to do, especially one that is the leader of the government. So you could actually argue reasonably that she certainly is not a first rate politician. I used to think she was smart and a good orator. But that has deserted her and no see just comes across to me as being increasingly desperate to stay in the limelight, whingey and whining and too keen to focus on putting the blame on every else to detract from her, and her governments, poor performance.

Which is an exciting position to take.

Historically politicians that aren't popular in democracies do not well do... Difficult to do anything if no-one votes for you...

The circle in which she is popular is the country that keeps electing her. Popular politicians are the ones that get elected. Unpopular ones stop being politicains.

It's not much like Corbyn really, and don't worry, he'll stop soon ...

The problem with Effective is what do you want them to be effective at? If Sturgeon gets indepenance she would be effective, she made her vision happen. North Korea could be classed as effective, same goes for Erdogan in Turkey.
