What is effective though?
Carrying out your vision or the electorates wishes?

Both Politicians set out their stall, If you get enough seats (for the UK that is about 35% of the vote) you get to put your wishes into action as that is what the public want.

I couldn't agree more, except you've cunningly missed a key element out.
The one where public are specifically asked what they want. Here, the manifesto becomes irrelevant on that particular point.
Politicians can't ask what the public want and then continue in a contradictory fashion simply because their manifesto says.

Maybe the issue is that they don't ask enough of the public what they want. If they did, then indyref2 for example would be dead and buried.

instead they set out their stall. I now you want a red car, but I will only let you have a green or a yellow one. The other side see's an opportunity and sets out their stall - but I am better than them, as i will offer you a purple, black or grey car! See I offer greater choice, therefore I am better.

The reality is, neither of them is actually offering the red car you want. But then it could be worse, you could vote for the greens and get a bicycle or the Lib Dems and get a bus! At least the main parties are offering a car.

For people that can afford to pay more? I thought you'd be in favour of that. And it only applies if you need to go to court so only the really bad ones.

The point is that all the Tory boys are suddenly wedded to manifesto promises as part of their crazy notion that politicains should be principled, unpopular servants of the people, until it's their leader who's taken to ad-libbing.

And didn't they pledge to increase limits, although I firmly believe they should be guidelines to the likes of me...

It's only in England and Wales is it not?

Getting back to "effectiveness" in politicians. Reading the papers yesterday the one thing that Sturgeon seems to be very effective at right now is turning Scotland blue! hahaha, she must be fuming and spitting yellow feathers right now.....

And should anyone want to see the disgusting and awful humiliating tory rape clause form

it is here

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... 8/nnc1.pdf

As a Tory voter i found page 5 to be some of the most disgusting and perverted questions i have ever see asked by a government. I really don't think i could fill that out without some serious searching. I can never remember my national insurance number

Yeah, I read that last night, and agree that the most disturbing thing is how the issue of rape is being used as a political stick to beat opponents with.

The debate should really be about whether the 2 child limit is correct or not (I support some limitation). Of course the Scot Gov has the power introduce a new benefit to effectively avoid this within Scotland, or remove it completely, if they hadn't chosen to delay the transfer of welfare powers till 2020 because "they weren't ready".. :damnfunny

Its the usual word association game we've become used to you (especially from the nats to be honest) - Tory Rape Clause / Hard-right Tory Brexit / Westminster Tory Government etc. etc. All simple phrases designed to simultaneously simplify and demonise.

Coalition of chaos, Politics works on soundbites. You answer every question with the same answer regardless of wither it's relevent or not. When it's shown on TV they play your message because they have nothing else.

Listen to May's responces at prime ministers question time yesterday. It's the same phrase over and over again.
