Agree with the other comments, cable disks are horrible things.

Methinks, given the nick of Nizzys steering for a long time, perhaps better than most at adapting to a problem, rather than fixing it

Worth noting it's a woman's bike. Further 10% off with seloc membership too. Just sayin'.

I see canyon bikes have their top Alu frame with a reasonable spec and ultegra Di2 for £1700 ish. Tempted, of only I could do it justice.

Strange thing is now that it's all fixed I kind of liked it before.

Yea,

This also is a very useful site for planing and plotting cycle rides;
http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php

If you have a smart phone, the bikehub app is good for cycling navigation - it includes cycle paths and cycle routes as well as ordinary paths. :thumbsup

I'm finding Google Now is good for routing cycle routes now as well.

Cycle boffins... Can anyone recommend me a reasonable training stand resistance thingy? Will any cheap Halfrauds one do, or is it like rowing machines where they all feel very wrong unless you spend a billion quid on a water-resistance one?

26" mountain bike wheel, not a road bike, if that makes any difference. It'll only get light use (if any :)).

Ta chaps!

First of all, why are you considering a Cycle Trainer at this time of year when the weather has been so good?

It's usually a winter purchase.

Have a read of these four:

http://www.evanscycles.com/categories/t ... o-trainers

http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/tech/gea ... -best.html

http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/b ... ers-32041/

This looks a good deal: (I bought one like this 20year ago and it's still going strong, unlike me)

Also put on a semi-slick tyre and keep your good tyres for outside and it will be less noisy too.

Better still, use some of your cash for some waterproof overshoes and get outside.

Steve.
