You should get some waterproof trousers :thumbsup

I've managed to across the Forth since Friday afternoon eight bloody times , 4 in the S160, 2 in the Kangeroo and 2 in my kayak.

The kayak crossing of the Forth was on my "to do" list before the end of the year. Leaving North Queensferry with a few others we headed south across the Forth the veiw of both the bridges is quite simply breath taking from the water :thumbsup , as I approached the middle arch of the Rail Bridge the waves were over a metre in height, the rain we had over the last few days ,tide and west wind were making things intresting :?: , not such a big deal in a kayak, however I could not get my head round that folk were about to swim in these conditions for charity:shock: South Queensferry soon arrived and after a sort briefing it was deemed for the swimmers safe to GO.......our afternoon was about to begin!!

Thirty brave / mad folk hit the COLD  water heading in the road bridge direction to combat the water flow , the groop split up fairly quickly so I hung back to help at the rear. After things settled down I started following this guy on his own he was keeping trak spot on all though a bit slower than the others, next thing we see was a Tanker with horn blasting heading in our direction......sh*t  communications cockup :?: . The swimmers had to hold fire till the Tanker passed :? then off they went again..

This delay did not affect my guy so badly ,he was not quite on the tanker, however 6-700 meters from the finish his hand appeared it was all over for him he had swallowed to much sea water :x . Hanging onto the front of my Kayak I summoned help by radio for him, quickly he was whisked off :thumbsup . We pulled a further two out in the fast flowing water, everyone was accounted for thankfully on shore. Our work was done.
It was a intresting afternoon and a fantastinc if not hard way of raising a few quid for the RNLI what a brilliant effort by all involved :thumbsup

Think I've had my quota of Forth crossings for the moment....

If you've had a Parmo then I'd guess heart disease comes next! I've not quite been the same since I had one
