I can still allocate a few slots out of the initial 80 for the 2012 Exige if anyone else wants to take the leap! If we wait until driving one in January when the press gets them and when we get our demo, it will probably be towards the end of summer next year until we see it depending on the order mix. Remember there is a full range again...boynerT72 wrote:I've heard all 80 are gone now....and i dont think the first ones will be ready to drive until December, by which time you will already have had to commit to speccing the car otherwise you will forfeit your build slot.
I went into MMC today to have a look at the "Toy Shop". I was asking Brandon about the new exige. I was trying to convince myself that putting my name down for one of the initial build slots was a good idea. Yep £50k is a lot for a car but I was trying to work out that, if they were of very limited supply in the UK, they may well hold their value well and that you may have the pleasure of driving one for 6 months or so before selling it for very little of a loss. Do you think that this is complete nonsense and irrespective of "limited" numbers, there will still be a reasonable amount of depreciation when you drive off the forecourt?shooomer wrote:I'm too scared to buy new and will picked up a used one.
The most expensive Evora on Pistonheads is £70,450 and cheapest 2011 supercharged is £46,750!!
An s1 exige over a ten year period is going to cost a lot more to run than any of the other models you mentioned. One maybe two rebuilds.Stewart wrote:I do wonder if elises/exiges have a natural level at which they plateau i.e S2 elise £12k, S/C Exige £22k, S1 elise £8k. I am not sure how much the RGB exiges cost but pretty sure there will have seen a good 10%-15% depreciation in the first few months. Will the same happen to the V6?shooomer wrote:I'm too scared to buy new and will picked up a used one.

I still think a S1 exige at about £22k might provide the safest depreciation proof ownership over the next 10 years. Now if I could just find one in laser blue ....
Yeah, I keep forgetting about those rebuildsjj wrote:

I don't think there is any way to predict what will happen Stewart.Stewart wrote: Stuff

In my opinion the only way to approach it is to buy it cos you want /can afford it, and factor in depreciation as normal - if it does well its a bonus. If it doesnt you have a crackin car that you bought to use/ keep and not to make a quick buck.
