Interesting. I personally know 3 people who have had bad experiences with SLS but have chosen not to say anything here. I suspect there has been too much of giving the benefit of the doubt because he is a one man band and a recent start up, and of not wanting to rock the boat because others have posted lavish praise of SLS. By contrast everyone is very quick to critisicise MMC when they have got it wrong, perhaps because it is felt they are a big company and should be able to take it. Next service my car will be going to a more professional outfit (one that has a landline and answers the phone for a start....)

Sorry, I've kept my mouth shut on this too long, now the same thing has happened again to another member of SE, I didnt want to say anything for fear of upsetting the establishment. In my opinion he's a bloody cowbow who turns out shody work and has been protected against ctitisism by some of the mods on here who are quick to jump on anyone who moans about it.

P.S. Gareth, now I've said my peice, I know you were pissed that I didnt do it before, so thats it sorted now then..
Yeah, I was pi55ed off due to how often I'm made out to be the bad guy. I'm just honest. It's black or white for me.
I'm tired of reading all this pi5h about SLS. I've never had first hand dealings with Ali and mechanical issues. My grievance was only ever in paperwork. IMO the guy's got to make a living to feed himself but if he's not good enough to make it on his own he should go under someone elses umbrella.
TBH, the promotion of any company on a non profit website like this should be banned.

Oh and John...."Gareth, now I've said my peice"..........
It's 'i' before 'e' except after 'c'

Trying not to jump on the bandwagon but my last visit to Ali wasnt as pleasant as Id hoped for either.

Without going into too much detail , the problem seems to be common ie.lead times.

I'm not posting to add another grumble to the list, posting this with hope the problem may be addresed in some fashion as I dont fancy trips to newcastle or being shafted by MMC.

Anyway I need another lotus first :(

Ps. JJ , Thanks for recommending Forsyth Glazing to me while back , got my orange splashbacks ordered up last week , good service so far :thumbsup

So I was right.

Mark, you completely missed the point, as expected. There is absolutely nothing petty about discussing people receiving poor service and paying a lot of money for this privilege, unless of course thats the angle you want to take. It's all black and white. Have a look at all the posts above for starters.

Jamie- orange splashbacks?! That to go with your Royal blue walls

Kinda the whole point of having the forum in the first place is it not?

Newbie: Hi, my car's broke can anyone reccommend a garage local to me?

SE: oooh, sorry no, we're not allowed to tell you that!

Agree with Kennyt on that one but there must be balance. Bad service should always be reported as well as good service.

All I will say on this is that if anyone ever had a problem with any work I did or the service I provided I would hope that they would initially discuss the issues with me to give me a chance to rectify the situation and if they were still not satisfied I see no problem with them posting their experiences on this or any other forum. I would indeed welcome it as it gives me the right to reply.

You can't keep everyone happy all the time but if I have done everything that I can to ensure the customer has a positive experience then I am content with that.

Geez JJ... Read my post again! I'm all for people posting their positive and negative experiences as that's helpful and what the forum community is all about and I clearly state this!! All I said is I have had a positve experience and like John says his was negative, I am not arguing with anyone or saying anyone is wrong!

What is Petty is dragging me into a he said she said.. I'm not one bit interested in this JJ so END OF! If you have a problem with me PM me and I'll sort it
