Everybody entitled to their opinion Ross, and you have a point.

I would point out though that I have done several advanced road driving courses with Walshy so I may have picked up some bad habits there. I first met him in 2000 when I was a newbie and I went down to Swansea where he lived for the weekend, and I could not believe the speeds that he was driving on the back roads, which of course he knew well. He had a standard S1 then whereas mine was putting out 180hp, so he ditched his car for the weekend.

However the unbelievable thing was the understeer, oversteer and spin training that we did on two roundabouts on the A48, one large, one small, the big one with traffic lights. Drove around until there was no traffic then went into demonstrations. I asked him how he went on with the police and he said that was how he discovered it as they used it for their training.

Irresponsible maybe, but who was I to argue with a professional driving instructor and the police force?

Ross,
I think there is a difference between complacency and error and the (more likely in this case) deliberate act of hooning. Personally I wouldn't recommend hoon/drifting on a public road...
...but if the conditions are correct it's not dangerous. Obviously, even though relatively safe you don't want to overcook it and spin as you look like an erse.
All characters appearing in this post are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.
Any references to laptimes, speed or driving on the public highway are purely for dramatic effect.

Its a JDM Honda engine so actually has an LSD.

However tis probably just a case of age overtaking ability which has to come around at some stage. As I said I think it is the first one in ten years of road runs, and as Ali says, when you make an @rse of yourself you do not do it again.
