Well. Where do I start?!

First off I'd like to thank Krishnan for being my taxi last night. :cheers

I'd also like to thank Peter for letting me sit in the R8 for a bit and make vroom vroom noises, I enjoyed myself very much! :love Don't worry about this morning, I probably would have made a mess of the passenger seat too!! :damnfunny I will get out in it soon enough! When I come to visit, you now have to take me out in the 'copter and the Audi!! :blackeye

Also thanks to those who looked after my friend, Heather, while I went around talking at people.  She's just left my house and she told me she had an amazing time, and that everyone is so nice and friendly, she loved every minute. She was a bit shocked to see one of her students at school walk into the house though!!

Thank You to Gary (hendeg) for taking me out to Braemar today. Sorry I had to keep making you stop!! I hope my sorry state this morning didn't impair my map reading skills!

Thank You to Craig too for taking me out in the 340r on the way home via Glenshee, Cairn o' Mount and back over to Mintlaw! It was ACE!! I love that purring from it!!

It was great to meet some new folks too and I can finally put more faces to usernames! BTW, who was it that said they are going to design my next house??

Finally, the biggest Thank You of all has to go to Tut, Verian and the rest of the Duncan clan, for hosting such an amazing event! You really did an outstanding job and I will never ever forgot this weekend! I only wish Alan could have been here to take part but I will update him when I pick him up from the station later tonight! It really was epic.

Thanks again everyone!

Several years ago, the first TT was a step into the unknown for everyone. I saw Tut's rather young family running around like Tasmanian Devils, doing their best to hoover up unclaimed alchohol with Verian doing her own level best to stay one step ahead of the whole bunch of under-agers.

At a later one, the fear of a News of the World exposee got me out of the jacuzzi pretty darn quick when a number of the Duncan Boys' indeterminately teenage pals (male and female) all piled in

So this weekend I arrive at the legendary venue that is Tut Towers, to find instead that a leggy blonde, a tall Audi TT driver and a fully qualified scooter rider, are all mucking in to help run the party this time, and showing effortless tolerance for their crackpot old Dad's antics! I also spend a lot of the evening swapping proud parent stories with some long-standing friends whom SE has brought me, and I cannot believe that we are all back here, doing this same gig yet again. But now I've got young kids of my own. And a whole stack of other great (and highly varied!) people have joined the SE ranks in the meantime. It's uncanny how SE seems to be able to grow with or around you no matter what is going on in your life...or indeed how it can wait until you are ready to get involved again after a "sabbatical" :-)

It was a pleasure to run up the "tourist route" on Saturday morning, the anticipation growing after our Afternoon Tea stop at Glenfiddich Distillery (Dufftown)...for me, this place increasingly feels like the "last lap" board in the TT arrival race...just the undulating few miles left across the North-East's agricultural heart to a sleepy town that thought when it became "Old" Deer, things were going to stay nice n quiet for evermore.

What the f*ck must the locals think when we all descend every 2-3 years for yet another "last ever, never to be repeated" TT event :D

I'd been preparing our near-11-year-old S1 for TT for the best part of a month beforehand. Yet it was still all touch-n-go the night before the track day, and incredibly Robin and then Alistair lent me a much-needed hand to put the "workaround" in place that allowed UJI not only to participate in the weekend itself, but to actually go on-track at KH for the first time in years. I found myself having to move out of the way most of the time, but satisfyingly, I did catch the odd other car (and no, not just when they were on their cool-down laps!!). It reminded me squarely what utter gems the Elise and its siblings truly are. Then on the road segments, mixing it with Al's superb Honda S2000 and Father Gibson's silky-smoothly-piloted S2 111S, at times I had to pinch myself, the car was feeling so "up for it".

So yes, my own thanks to Tut, Verian, Clare, Iain, Luke, Hamish (+ glamorous assistant!) and other unsung heroes without which we'd never have been there, partying until dawn (quite literally, in some cases, I'm told).

A picture to whet your appetite...

Until next time.

What more can be said, other than thank you Tut, Verian and the rest of the Duncan clan. I believe that a TT has to be experienced to be truly believed and appreciated, great weather, great roads, great banter from some great SE personalities. Although this might be the last TT, everyone I talked t agreed it was definitely an epic weekend :D and I can only wish its not the last

Well I reckon I owe a massive thank you.

Firstly to Mum, Dad, Hamish and all those others who helped out. This was the first Tut Towers that I took a full part in. I can honestly say it was one of the best weekends of my life. My eyes are opened to what "real driving" and "real roads" truly are! Everything was superb, excellent food, company, and the event was organised perfectly.

Would also like to say a massive thanks to Craig for putting up with me on both the Friday and the Saturday and John Reid for the Sunday run to Braemar. I realise I'm not my Dad and near his pace but did my best to push on all the same. Also to the 2 Mark's, Hendeg, Steve Weegie, Peter and anybody else who joined into our convoys. Oh also Ferg, I did see that you followed me on the Sunday, sorry I couldn't wait up, had to get the brother home from Braemar before half four and we didn't leave till half 2 and I wanted to do the route but in the opposite direction. My 40 miles detour didn't help me make my deadline! You were what made those runs so epic, OMG those runs really were something else!

Amazing roads and some great stories and moments. A few of the top of my head:

My passenger trying to throw up out the side of my car at 110 tuts and almost being knocked out by the wind.
Watching John Reid do most of the Sunday run sideways!
The Kenlochleven (not a clue how to spell it) Loop that I did with Craig where I got my fat heffer of a car airborne!
Dad ripping a pigs trotter to pieces exclaiming how amazing it was and wondering why nobody else was doing the same.
My psychotic neighbour claiming he could feel energy levels and talk to necklaces, then Peter pretending to bum him from behind and shouting out "feel my dark chee baby".
The amazement in some peoples faces when they looked in their rear view mirrors and realised I was actually still right behind them. God knows how!
The front of my car being nicely oiled up by following Craig which incidentally probably protected the front from all the stones that got thrown at the front of it. Sadly the windscreen didn't fair up so well and it looks like I have 5 chips in it! :blackeye
Mckape pissing against a tree in my garden and giving me sex looks while he was doing it! (We'll talk about this late, I told you! Not in public!)
Peter and Andy's roadblock incident with the copper who played the part of over ambitious police man in "Meet the Fockers!"
Going round Knockhill sideways for a few laps with Holly totally pissing herself non-stop laughing at the fact. Also a few laps with Scott as well! :thumbsup
Taking my Dad and my Sister round as passengers and showing that I wasn't totally incompetent.
Tequilla and drink on the Friday night at Fort William!
Lindsay's seatbelt tan line across her boobs!

I managed 8 hours sleep over the weekend and got next to none last night (female company :thumbsup ) and managed to work up 1050 miles since leaving for Knockhill, only had 2 near misses, one on the motorway by a bus driver who could only have wanted me dead and another half a mile from home at the end of the run where somebody pulled out from the small old deer bridge junction while I was Tut'ing it back home.

Had a great laugh with many of you, so many names and faces all of which I hope to see again soon!

Thanks again to everyone. Back to normal life and driving up and down North Anderson Drive each day and also dealing with my crazy and very stupid looking sunburn!

I love Scottish Elises! :love :love :love :love

If that really was the swansong (and we don't believe it for a second you old git) then what a way to bow out! Even though my Elise didn't make it, it was the best Elise weekend I've had in 8 years of being part of this group. Every single time we gimp patrol stopped and took helmets off we were grinning from ear to ear and prattling on at 100mph about how this was the best weekend ever!

Highlights for me are too many to mention - Awesome roads and weather, top company, meeting old mates and new and actually being able to converse with them, the nick of Jen when we turned up (eat THEN drink, woman!) meeting a lass from Troon randomly in the bunch, staying up talking pish with Malcolm and Tut until after SIX in the morning then grabbing an hour and a half of sleep before breakfast was fired up - yet still not feeling like I'd been shot in the head - miracles do happen!

Finally though, just the hugest thanks to Tut, Verian, Ian, Clare and Luke - plus Hamish's great spread. To hand over your house to a mob of folk for the evening is borderline madness, to have sat and organised, chased, paid up front for things, chased, herded and coerced just so they had the privilege of being on such a superb event is properly nutty. But then again, we all know you're nuts :)

Thanks to everyone for making it the best TT, therefore the best SE weekend, I can remember.

Great to catch up with everyone and get to meet some people i previously havent met before (excluding the local constabulary)

Epic effort from Tut, Verian and Clan Duncan, who put in a staggering amount of work to make this happen.

A genial weekend.

Sorry i had to bail out this morning, but various cars to collect from various places and a tonne of things to sort before frolic.

I hope my partner in fictious crime got home safely and no more Aesops Fables from more crack smoking illusion suffering pikees blotted your weekend

Just showed Verian the posts, and although she is knackered, she said that it makes it all worthwhile when people enjoy it so much, especially for the fifth time.

For myself, it is very similar, I have the time to plan it and I enjoy that bit at the same time. When it all comes together and works out, it is both satisfying and a relief, because I would take it personally if it was screwed up or anything went wrong. As it was, I can not thank everyone enough for mucking in, making all three days a great event, obviously driving quickly but sensibly, hence another clear record. That is quite an accomplishment with 111 cars on the road at the same time, and a spread of power and driver experience across the spectrum.

Never seen TT that full before, remember trying to get from one end of the lounge to the other, and just giving up. I don't think I have made it passed 0200 before, certainly not standing up and compus mentis, but I believe I saw it through to the Summer Soltice. Remember making outrageous suggestions to Allison, but hopefully for the rest of the lassies it was a grope free evening. If not just treat it as your birthday present to me.

ps Shug, Hamish did a great job with the carving, but it was Verian who ordered all the food and did the cooking.

Legendary.
Another never-to-be-forgotten SE weekend.
My car was just back on the road, and what a way to wake her up :)
Memorable moments include:

Trying to book into the wrong hotel on Friday
Discovering some great new roads, and re-discovering others. Surprisingly little traffic too!
Getting some of those zen moments when the roads are empty, the sun is shining and everything clicks; the tarmac flows and swoops with the car, you thread the corners together perfectly, and remember just why you love these cars,
Orange Evoras. And toxic Caterhams. :love
The weather!
Seeing Tut outlast everyone on Sat. night, and with more style than the rest of us could muster!
Alison volunteering to walk Kahn, then disappearing out of the driveway in a shower of pebbles; heels dug in like a water-skier, as she was towed by the dog at a high rate of knots :damnfunny
The outstanding hospitality, patience, and sheer effort of Verian and the whole Duncan clan,
Thank you all. People like you lot, that go the extra mile, make all our lives a little bit richer.

My only regrets are that it's over, and that there were people I would've liked to have chatted to more!

Pictures to follow.... :thumbsup
