What about Porsche 968 Sport:

Seems to be the day that I suggest "loud" coloured cars (although this is a little bit more subtle but has a garish tinge to it)

That's properly cool. I'd have that in an instant for this kinda trip... Does it have AC?
Andy - it's less that the Renault is trying to kill you, from what I hear, more that it's a bit Bambi on ice and doesn't have the lock to hold any angle worth speaking about...

Yes.
I've been reading a lot about them. I'm sure it'll be fine with Ed at the wheel.

If you'd seen the blister on the sole of Sanjoy's foot, and seen both Andy and Sanjoy tipping bottles of Evian over themselves while driving you'd understand

Wouldn't make f*cking France in that case...
To be clear - before the TVR mafia jump on me, FF properly kills cars. I mean, for all we joke, you can hammer the hell out of an Elise on track and drive it home and you see them failing through FF. On FF you do that for a week, but instead of home, it's hammer it to the next track. Best will in the world, they aren't as bad as legend infers, they aren't that sturdy.

Brilliant level of detail in the ad - "black, black sports interior, recent new suspension, new belts, fsh"
Still, good that it's had some of the big work done to it recently.

Ed - 996 Carrera?
http://pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2413460.htm
Surely perfect for your needs ?
We might need to beat him down a bit to make budget, but within a whisker of it at £12k.
If it was decent it would be a great effort
