Obviously it was not directed at you Campbell, despite being a cop you are a good guy. :D

In the family, Verian was a cop, my son Mike is a cop, I was a cop x2, though attached to the force via helicopter. But Chief Super, how out of character was that?

We made a point about personal insults between scuffers and SimonE, we can not do the same if we wish to maintain integrity. Makes me sound as if I am preaching, but it is just that I am an old codger and I want S_E to be what it always has been, a happy bunch of enthusiasts that has been born out by this weekend.

Maybe the cops genuinely had nothing better to do (especially true if traffic) and they've just getting their ticket stats up? .......... ;)

Chris you tosser, how the devil are you? Long time no see.

Number plate situation is simple, if it is not on and you know so, you take the consequences. Unscrewed mine a couple of times when leaving KH, then decided it was not worth it. When sitting on 11 points I decided I had to change my driving habits on A roads, especially in overtaking, so got rid of them and have had no more since. Null points.

However I am no angel, and on roads as per this weekend I do not even look at the speedo which does not work anyway, not interested in straight line speed, but go around the bends at a speed that means I enjoy the driving, and get into a flow which is what it all about. Very little chance of being copped, but if I am three points is worth it.

Still hate scam vans though, everybody knows that 90% of them are placed with nothing to do with safety, stick them on an open straight, even better after a stretch of double white lines, and see how many suckers they can get. And of course I realise that if you stick to the limit you have nothing to worry about. Difference is they are brainless robots set to a fixed limit, which is a fair bit less than a patrol car would even bother about.

Can you imagine anybody ever being booked on the M25 at 79, that is if they could ever reach that speed?

I was pulled by traffic police for having pressed aluminium plates on my mini years ago and they were actually the 2 nicest blokes i have have met in that situation,

i got the... ' i could charge you, but get it sorted and i wont have to, however, if i see you again with them on i WILL make sure you are charged/fined etc.''

GBobM, Woody and i "met" a lovely copper on Sunday who could have been a cock but was super friendly and actually made our Sunday.

In contrast i was undertaken on the hard shoulder at approx 100mph on Monday evening on the M8 going past the exit to the services and anyone leaving said services on a motorbike (as i was the week previous) would have been killed instantly. "Professional standards" just called and informed me that they are trained to a higher standard than most people blah blah blah.

So as in most professions you get some good guys and you get some wanks. The good guys don't' get as much press.
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

Meh, my Sunday was made during the torrential cloud burst that the mini wipers couldn't deal with as you and Dave hunkered down in a roofless VX.
