Thanks for the quick replies.

George- harnesses are still fitted. I'm afraid I don't know what's required to remove them. hopefully somebody will be along with the answer.

Dominic- I think the time scale is quite short (a few days) as apparently once I have the cheque the car belongs to the insurance company. However I'll be sure to confirm that it's ok to remove them once the appointments made.

Cheers guys.

Edit to add:
Just seen that there's a seloc tech wiki for installation and it requires the seats out (very nice full leather probax with yellow trim by the way ;) ) so I completely understand if it's too time consuming to bother with.

May be popping along to Murray's later so will have a quick chat with the guys to see whether it's a "numpty" proof :-)

However if anyone knows then more than happy to help out if I can.

I maybe able to get there on Thursday morning - depending how early they open. If that's any use.

Not very helpful opening hours:
0900-1300 1400-1630 Monday to Friday.

Already appreciate your offer but dont worry about it if it would take up too much of your time or is too far out of your way.

Hmm,.. that does not really work; I am dropping someone off at Edin airport around 7am, so thought I could pop in, if they opened at 8,.. although I can be a little later into my office (I'm my own boss  ) I can't really be too late. Sorry.

Gedi,

Spoke to a Lotus mechanic and to do the harness/bar it's a case of removing seats, sometimes speakers/back trim.

Probably beyond my mechanical capability but happy to help if someone else is there and I can lend a hand to make the job easier/quicker.

Cheers

The harnesses are loop around type are they not? Tell me they don't need the bar out to fit? I've just fitted a bar and am waiting on harnesses. Really don't want to be taking it out again as its a proper pain in the arse!

Give me a call Gerard. I'll see what I can do

Think it was the Bride ones that were fitted to the RGB Exige in Murray's that I was speaking to the mechanic about. I did not delve into the rear so did not see how the harness was attached but got he impression the bar was the difficult part to extract (as you indicated)

Yeah the bars a pain to fit. Getting it out is no problem. I just hope the harnesses don't need sliding on before fitting the bar otherwise I need to do it all again. Taking out the seats and removing bar and harnesses(and refitting seats) shouldn't take more than an hour. More like 30mins if you've done it before

Hi Gerard,

I may be able to remove them for you tomorrow - but won't know for sure till the morning.
Might even be able to deliver them direct to your door :D I'll PM you.

Dipper,

you'll be glad to know that the harnesses are wrapped around the bar ( at least my Schroth ones are )
You won't need to remove the harness bar again. :D

George,

I'm planning to be at the yard around 10:00 this morning if you're free and want to lend a hand.
