Yeah there was a 'me and my car' feature in evo a while ago with his Caterham.

Was a bit disappointed with todays action to be honest, not much in the way of overtaking and lots of time spent behind safety cars. No real excitement with Gordon or Rory either- a retirement each and although they both got good results in the races they finished they weren't really dicing for positions so there wasn't much excitement.

Was it just me being a bit grumpy or did anyone else find it a bit flat today?

Still, on the positive side we didn't get rained on and the car park emptied a lot quicker than it did last year!

Normally Plato helps, but he was not on form this time.

tried to watch a bit via ITV player but it bombed

Might make the effort to plan a trip next year with one or both kids. They're aboutl old enough to handle a full day of motorsports now, I think. Though just going for qually and some Saturday support races might be a smarter move.

Can remember the heady days when they had loads of satellite car parks with park n ride and only "VIPs" got to park at the circuit. When Audis were given ballast 'cos their 4x4 systems gave them extreme advantage over Renault Lagunas and Pug 406s, LOL!

Took son up twice, 1st year gales plus lashing rain, 2nd year only howling but still freezing winds so they aren't keen to ever return (and that was with being fully wrapped up as I know what Knockhill is like, moaning started before the 1st race). You just need to time the 1st trip on that 1 year in 10 it is blazing sunshine and only a light breeze or as you say maybe a shorter intro rather than a full day.

Also remember the days a while back with the Cavalier, Laguna, Alfa, Volvos, Audi and Primera...even got my Play station (PS1) TOCA game signed by a few of the drivers at the time, which accidentally got given to a jumble sale in the end. Had to laugh when played TOCA with real weather conditions, Knockhill was the only one that always ended up being thunder and lightning and looking like you were racing in darkness

i wonder if they will ever entertain the BTCC at knockhill in reverse? one of the marshals did mention that there was a few MSA officials looking at the hairpin approach on the Monklands evening track night, as I guess they feel it’s the most worrying of the corners for a big accident, however, the marshals opinion was that isn’t true.

On another note, im not a big fan of BTCC going turbo, should stay with N/A, less to go wrong……it seemed that most were complaining about boost problems all weekend….

Very good advice, Ian. Ours have quite a bit of experience of Knockhill from trackday spectating in last 3 years now, so I am acclimatising them gradually ;-)

It's just such a weather lottery up there of course...

What I plan to do is, go along to one of the more "club-oriented" race meets - eg 23rd Sept or 7th Oct - and see how these go for them first.

Come to think of it, if it's not booked, maybe 7th Oct as the LEGS Breakfast could be good! Or is this one back at Perth Airport again?

Yep. Disappointing days racing.
Was nice of Plato to go backwards into the tyres right in front of us :D

As for the kids, Ive been taking my older one for years took the four year old for the first time this year. We take a small tent for the kids and put it up against the fence so they can watch the action away from the elements.
