Re: Stop Gap Lotus
Campbell,
To be honest if its not a Lotus then we won't be buying. We already have the Clio RS as the day to day car and the Porsche 911 for the nicer days. However the 911 does not always offer the same thrills as a Lotus.
Real reason for buying now is in case the delivery of the Exige V6 is delayed which means we don't have a Lotus come spring/summer time. More than likely it will be laid up in the garage in winter and only come out in the good weather (if there is any).
Maybe found a private Exige S2 (with a couple of mods) which may tick our boxes prices wise but doing some more investigation before purchasing. An S1 may be something else to explore though - not quite as extreme as the Exige.

Supplying cars this year? Pretty impressive under the circumstances.

Re: Stop Gap Lotus
Good news that the Exige V6 is going to be delivered. Will have to chat to Brandon to check whether there are any delays on our delivery date now.
Bad news is that I have no excuses for looking at Stop-Gap Loti. We nearly added an Exige S and a Esprit S4S to our stable over the last couple of weeks.

If only our garage was big enough I could have had the Exige S, Esprit S4S and this Esprit S2 for the price of an Exige V6!!

Nope, not me unfortunately.
I keep looking at the S3 Turbo Esprits and am sure I will get another one. Perhaps a JPS or Essex one. My main worry is that I had my previous Turbo for about 3 years and it was perfect, didn't cost me a penny to fix anything, and sold for more than I paid for it. I suspect that can't happen twice

Re: Stop Gap Lotus
Surely this would be a good buy if Evo's magazine are right about the GT3: Esprit_GT3. Its about the top of the market for a GT3 but with such low mileage bound to be a good punt for future resale. If it was Norfolk Mustard I would be quite tempted myself and maybe forget about the Exige V6 for another year.
This was the one that really interested Sandra: Esprit S4S
However Sandra popped into MMC tonight and things are looking more promising. Now thinking of going down to the factory to finally spec the options on our car

I would discourage you from an Esprit GT3. I had one (in Norfolk Mustard) and it was a fairly disappointing car to own.douglasgdmw wrote:Surely this would be a good buy if Evo's magazine are right about the GT3: Esprit_GT3. Looked fast when parked, felt gutless when moving. My old car (minus rear spoiler) was the one featured in Evo magazines a month or so ago in the Esprit Group Test and to be fair, it seemed to have the same value as when I sold it ( http://www.evo.co.uk/front_website/gall ... ?id=526951 )

never seen the v6 Exige in the flesh yet
