I was heading offshore on one of these bad boys just before that incident. Quite glad it wasn't mine as it wouldn't have made my day. Super Puma's are not all that common in Norway, they tend to lean towards the S92 a bit more. Anyway, winds were bad so crew change didn't happen for a few days out here, the grounded Eurocopters didn't really help either. Hopefully a safe trip home when it comes around, I'm sure if its an S92 transporting us it will relieve a lot of tension that the super puma would create.

I wasn't complaining, just stating a fact due to the current situation.

Just found out this morning that some of my colleagues on another platform are being choppered onto a neighbouring supply vessel, ready for a 12 hour sailing back to Aberdeen harbour. Plenty "Titanic" jibes have already been made

S92 aren’t without their own problems though, believe there’s currently a couple grounded in Norway with cracks to the gearbox mounts, however that’s something that ours have been suffering from for the last 18 months.

A crew change chopper (super puma, just a short flight from Sumburgh) landed on the BP Clair this afternoon around 2.30, and promptly shut off.

Reports of a strong smell of fuel on board. :(

Still sitting on the helideck...making the POB approximately 14 over capacity....so resorting to nightshift hotbedding :o

At least it was a chopper and not a "Frog". I am happy to say I wouldnt be looking forward to that.

Same as Billy Pughs?
