The 640 is a great mile muncher. If driven in a spirited fashion it bottoms out quite easily but it does the motorway thing really well and uses hardly any diesel.

I only got it because of contract hire deal, I added quite a few extras, about £5k's worth so it isn't mega cheap but not bad value.

7 series would be a good hire bet.

Need to pick a sensible car for the new job and there are some inspiring lease deals on the larger BMW's

I really fancy a Golf R as the ultimate Q car for the daily commute to "The Den of the Bears"

Its not a large BMW like a 640 but I have had my F31 335D M X-Drive for close on 6 months now and absolutely love it. For us it has been the ideal car which will satisfy so many conditions with cruising, load lugging, dog transportation and the occasional spirited drive.

I have not usually been impressed with gadgets but the must have is the adaptive lights, the ability to have full beam on permanently and the radar to dip for oncoming traffic or put shadow out the car in front is truly amazing.

Considering the car has 315bhp, the fuel economy has not been too bad and obviously its how you drive it but on long distance motorways it has put in a pretty good mpg at the pumps (not really measuring it as after having an Evo as a daily driver years ago I now feel that anything else is a bonus  )

Must admit the only slight annoyance is the standard springs on on the X-Drive. If you are pressing on in "Comfort" mode they do get a little bit wallowy. However I believe that they are now offering the M-Sport springs as a no cost option on new cars or alternative is the AC Schnitzer springs.

We have also de-badged ours so majority of people think its a 320D which means their less hassle at the lights.

Nice alternative if you want to look like a sales rep and be even more anonymous

I think, unless I'm very much mistaken, that Boag is focused on a cheap lease deal first and foremost. I've never seen such a thing on a 335 shooting brake. Having been seduced by said cheap lease deal myself, I know where he's coming from. I'm falling for my Golf R more and more each day I drive it. I doubt there is another car in existence with such a broad depth of talents and when I look at what I pay for it on a monthly basis it makes me chuckle. I feel like I've stolen it.

Current cheap lease deal award must go to the BMW 125d though. 220bhp, hot hatch performance, £180pm on a 2 yr lease. Add the excellent 8sp auto and you're good to go. Heavily manufacturer subsidised so available at all the usual outlets. Won't be around for long.

£180 plus VAT.

Its a good deal on paper IMO, however there are a few options missing such as rear parking sensors and maybe cruise plus leather which I would expect to be standard on a 30k car. Not that I have been looking

Google it, the offer is widely available at all the usual outlets.

eg http://www.rivervaleleasing.co.uk/car-l ... -3dr-55828

I wouldn't loose any sleep over lack of parking sensors on a hire car I was going to rag for 2 years then hand back.
