Tut Towers sale.
Re: Tut Towers sale.
Up until now this has been our first choice, way out on its own, 260 sq mts, good sized rooms, and he has now agreed to sell us the extra 3.5 acres with the two buildings on it as I told him it was a deal breaker, and I am not taking the chance that he could get planning permission for his kids.
We really do want a large bedroom that we can get my spaz double bed in and Verian's as well, plus good sized lounge and kitchen, and decent showers/ bathrooms. A bit of wall painting to be done, but that is about it, owner is a carpenter/builder, so built it to his own spec. He is asking £300K for the whole, but reckon we will get it for £280 which is at the top end of our budget. It has been on the market for well over a year, he has reduced the price twice, so if any body can see something that I have missed then let me know.

I wish estate agents would put pictures of the inside of the garage on their websites, the most important room in a property. Contemplated moving house last year but the garages were always a let down.

Sure will be Robin, other than Buck Palace most houses would be. Made a hell of a difference to us recently with the price of oil, £1,380, £920, £750, for 2,000l.
Also for the first time I would actually be able to use my Disabled WP status for the free insulation deal, new condensing oil boiler, cavity wall insulation, and 200mm deep of roof insulation. Twice they came around to TT and told me to qualify I would have to replace all 31 C/H radiators, but all I wanted was a replacement high efficiency oil boiler.
Also, although it will never replace Tut Towers, it is big enough and has loads of space around to still have a Tut Something, which is really all that matters.
It ain't going to be called Three Acres if we buy it, we always regretted that we did not rename Maidstone House when we moved in, and it was you lot that actually christened it Tut Towers, so Verian would still like to come up with something suitable incorporating "Tut"

i.e.:- Believe it or not, Paul is actually considering changing the name to Tut Towers when he moves in. That is class.

Agreed Alan.
I left Verian to show the photographer around and the doors were closed. However it takes five cars, wooden floor, heated, so hopefully a buyer would get the idea.

That's so true a pal of mine is currently looking for a new house - one house he is comtemplating has a brick built, heated, unattached garage that doesn't even feature in the schedule! (He's going to turn it into a gym, which is against nature, but you get the idea).tenkfeet wrote:I wish estate agents would put pictures of the inside of the garage on their websites, the most important room in a property. Cool house Tut. Good luck!

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

tut, I had the same E/A guy from McEwan's to chat about maybe selling my Aberdeen townhouse. Seemed like an ok bloke and made it clear that commission was negotiable. I twigged who he ment when he mentioned marketing a property in Old Deer and some bloke wandering around outside with bare feet!!

Small world Jim, was it Peter Reid?

Yes, that's the guy. Said he had been in the Artillery for 25 yrs before becoming an E/A. Like I say, he seemed fine.
I have had a place off Golden Sq in Aberdeen for almost 10 years now and slept in it less then 5 times so am thinking about selling. I bought it when Wendy started working in Aberdeen incase she wanted to stay there after a late night meeting or before an early meeting but I think she has stayed there less than a dozen times, although she pops in every day she in in Abz for breakfast after getting off the train and we keep a car there so she can drive to work out by the Exhibition Centre. But, she is only up there 3 days per week now.
In retrospect, taking 10 years of rental income and paying for a dozen hotel rooms over that time might have made more financial sense

For some reason this did not appear on the Radar, phoned this morning to get a viewing but they had accepted an offer last week, and it had been on since last August. Looked perfect, out on its own in 6.5 acres, could not fault the house, and only 5 miles from TT. Double garage and those almost new metal sheds.
Wish we and not seen it though, about to put in an offer for Three Acres, but it is definitely second best to The Glen.

Had disgusting service from McEwan and it's now with SLCC
Re: Tut Towers sale.
I'm surprised that so many people still use estate agents. The interweb has created revolution in so many areas of our lives but it doesn't seem to have fully caught up with the property market yet.
I understand that it can be a daunting process for some, or you may be selling a house at the other end of the country so you can't be there to conduct viewings, but now that we have home reports, and you have a solicitor there to hold your hand, I don't actually see what estate agents do to justify their outrageous fees. Take a few photos, upload onto Rightmove, Zoopla. So why not just use an online agent to get it onto the big portals yourself and save thousands ?
I'm not saying this would be for everybody, but I'm surprised the balance hasn't swung more in favour of DIY online home selling. Especially when I hear stories from so many dissatisfied estate agent customers.
Apologies in advance to any resident SE estate agents
Regards,
Jeremy
