Is your 260 road legal?
Yes, road legal on a 09 plate Scotty.

It is using all of the bespoke 2-11 components on a bare Elise chassis (suspension, ECU and wiring looms, intercooler etc). The only bits that aren't 2-11 are the chassis itself and body work. However on the up side, the Elise chassis is inherently stiffer than a 2-11 chassis, the multiple extrusions they use to create the door opening on a elise make it much stronger to a single continuous extrusion in the 2-11.

It also has the 270ps GT4 kit on it inc the Pilbeam dual circuit brake kit (no abs), gt4 ohlins dampers, manifolds, etc.

It's a proper little weapon, the 2-11 i/c setup works so much better when fed from the side scoops. Unlike the 2-11 which dips off after a couple of laps there is very little noticeable difference after 1/2hr of track with it that is the longest stint I have down in it so far). the intakes on the 2-11 are just too small.

Cheers Graeme,

Again, the rear lights are mounted on 2-11 rear wing uprights directly onto the sub-frame. I have positioned them so i can cut two slots through the clam and mount a 2-11 track wing to them should I wish to.

Also re-wired the lighting loom and now using 4 outer rear lights so you get 4 brake lights, 4 side lights and 2 indicators each side, looks fab all lit up at night!!

Every day is a school day..... I always thought the chassis was the same.

Car looks the business - love the rear end treatment. Nicely done. 8)

They go well dont they!

That makes 3 I know about then, most go the Kometec route, very few go down the 2-11 route because it is more expensive but factory is always better than after market. The only reason the car is on Nitrons is because the Ohlins I had were for a 2-11 so Iwould have had to change the steering arms and dampener brackets or the dampener rods for longer ones. Easier just to change to Nitron.

Well there were only two!! I had enough of the big bits left over on the shelf to build another one, the 260 spec though this time but still using all 2-11 components to the same design as above, ecu, wiring looms, suspension. s/c.

The chassis I used for this one was unregistered so it was built as trackday/race car eligible for uk/europe LoT racing.

To finish it off I stole the rear clam and fuel quick fill off the first car above as it was really meant for track use (pain in the arse at petrol stations to fill) and I have re-done another rear clam the same using its original filler neck for the road car.

I went for the retro 70's look with this one and comes in at 800kg with 20ltrs -

Is the track one to be the new #95, or have you still got the 2-11?

Sorry Mike, hijacked your thread.

Graeme, yes I still have the 2-11, it has been returned to road use, all new panels and a new plant job. The two elise are both to fia race spec, one just has the GT4 bits on it and is registered. Whichever one doesn't sell I will use as my race car, they were built so I didn't have to smash up the 2-11 racing it but still be in a 2-11 if that makes sense.

Mike, no I have the elise sport160, in many ways a much better proposition for road than the exige is, and rarer..

Not on the elise's as such. I did one for my exige build -
