Disappointed they have gone for Harris - his appearance on 5th Gear recently wasn't up to much. He comes with baggage too for his criticism of Ferrari, Lamborghini and Lotus in the past and his unwavering support for Porsche.
Baggage? I would say that is integrity rather than baggage, every other journo succumbed to their marketing depts pressures. Was he the one who wrote the piece on Ferarri stating at the begining that he knows he will never get factory prepped cars again, going back a few years now. As for porkers you need to dig deep and ask when was the last bad one?

I think thats a great line up and they are all great individuals. But it all depends on their joint chemistry.

Chris Harris is a fantastic journalist imho. That said, I do suspect that he would be too dry and dull for mainstream TV.

Typical gutter press general sweeping statement - Monkey & Sabine are both well known to anyone who has more than a passing interest in cars & motoring journalism.....in fact surely he must be the most famous internet car dude these days? (excluding over in 'Murca, but plenty septics will know of him too)

Bit of BBC media training and job done, really looking fwd to it being a car programme again rather than setting fire to caravans & slapstick.

One thing for sure is that the production team won't be looking back. We'll all hate episode 1 for sure, but it won't be long before we're hooked.

I wasn't being serious ;-) I am sure they'll make it into something new and good in due course - I didn't watch any of the last few series other than what I caught by accident here and there - will make an effort to watch the new series now and then.

Cheers,
Robin

:withstupid

I am a big fan of Harris, but not convinced he will sparkle on TV. I hope he does, and look forward to a fresh take on TG.

We watched the P1 - Porsche - La Ferrari video he did. I must say that was probably done to a higher standard than most of the last two seasons of Top Gear. Very watchable..
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....
