Hi Jim
Just seen this - not on here much these days...
We struggle to get decent FM guys in Aberdeen.

Can you drop me a PM when you get a chance?

Was made redundant for the first time in my life last month. When I found out my job was at risk it was quite a shocker having never been in the situation before.

I revamped my CV, immediately got in touch with recruitment agencies and pushed my CV out to people I knew in other companies. Managed to sort something pretty fast doing that.

My biggest recommdation is to meet recruitment agency people face to face, that way they are less likely to forget about you and remember you when the right job match turns up.

I also regularly on a weekly basis just touched base with them as honestly they get so many CVs that they will eventually move on to the next hot CV that comes into them.

Also on LinkedIn change your job to "Now available and looking for new opportunities " it will show up on all your connectionw newsfeeds and recruitment consultants will see it and look at your profile just out of curiosity.

Thanks for that Saj, I really do need to go see them rather than relying on phone calls and emails, way more personal.

Hi Ross, I'll PM you just now thanks.

Cheers

Its not that bad out there just come out of a second stage interview with a 50/50 chance of the job. 12% more money, free house for 6 months and a van, doesn't sound that bad.

Downside is I would have to move to Dumfries.

At least at Dumfries you'll get decent rolls and tattie scones ;-)

Good roads down that way! Hope you pull it off. Maybe it was the nudge you needed! :-)
