I came here to suggest a Granturismo / cabrio. Sounds to me like you want a GT, and, despite having been available for a few years now, these cars still look fantastic to me.

For me, I'd be looking at those and the Jag. The Jag may depreciate, but they look fantastic. From what I gather, the Maserati is pretty well put together (for an Italian car) and sounds incredible.

But then, for me, the R8 just doesn't look...enough. I can't get past it being a giant TT. I'm sure they are great to drive, but I think there is more to a car feeling special than just how it drives.

As a couple of completely left field suggestions (as you mentioned an Esprit earlier in the thread):

Market seems to be all over the place but picked out this one:
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/ ... es/6255405

Admit that as its an older car it comes with additional baggage but with the new one hitting the roads soon its a very safe place to put into a motor.

If you are looking for a pork related garage, with the 40th anniversary next year how about this:

Sorry, but anyone driving an NSX today will be mightily disappointed, sub 300 bhp in this day and age will feel awful. Granted in a 250 SWB I wouldn't be complaining but the NSX isn't pretty enough on its own to justify being talked about in this context.

I think you'll buy the R8, Jim. It'll be a great choice. With a 360 in the garage you don't need more flair, you want reliable useable super car. All that touches an R8 is a 911 but you might have been there, done that. If not try a 997GTS?
