Yup, trust me, it is! Buying a 111R before having at least couple of years driving experience, let alone before passing a driving test, seems err......unusual to say the least :? :D

Mr Whittle, Don't take offence at what I interpret as genuinely flummoxed posts given the circumstances you've posted - I mean really, how many people can afford to learn to drive (or rather, get insured to learn to drive) in a brand new 111R?

One, obviously :)

We're a really friendly bunch of folk on here, most of whom have had to beg, steal or borrow to keep the cars on the road, and most that don't try to keep it under the radar: that's what you've done differently to provoke the reaction. Please don't take offence, and really you should be flattered that people just can't believe how lucky you are :)
I'm not offended ;)

I didn't mean to raise any eyebrows, I do fairly well at work and enjoy my time off. I knew it was silly buying the car PRE test, however I am a very compulsive person, and often this gets the better of me.

Even though I have that evil red sticker, I feel like I am a fairly sensible and safe driver...

Silly, but then, hey, none of us bought a Lotus to be sensible, so providing you take it easy at first and don't hurt yourself in what is a pretty quick car, then why not....

No intention to cause any offence - just throwing 2p in! - and certainly not trying to go S*loc about it!

I'd have to agree on the MX -5 front. Who'd be seen driving one of those?

(Mac - that was my evil twin driving Laura's MX-5 the other night! )
