Agreed, Jonny is a friend, his briefings are excellent, and he will not stand for bad driving, and will take action if you speak to him. I did once on Saturday.

As most of you saw, I was pulling over to let most cars past, but on one corner having let two go past, I moved over on line and was almost turning when that white Porsche with the big wing came flying past about an inch away. At that speed, and me being LHD, it could have been nasty.

ps I am not at all biased because he gives me free track days.

Er, indeed you will, yes...high time you took your turn!

Although you will no doubt point to Robin who persuaded Walshy to return to the Ring, and thence teed up the night of debauchery that led to the missing persons report in the first place :D

Dan, I suppose you are not too fazed if Euan is awol, after all, you have his nice Exige and he has your, er, courtesy car?!?! ;-)

ps - meant to add , delighted to hear you all had a great trip, especially SE'ers who were venturing to EU tracks for the first time. Would have loved to have been there for the banter and beers, but with so little spare time had to flee home to get fixing

Bloody epic trips - SO gutted to have it cut short - but hey 2011, FF10, etc will make up for it.

The 5 laps i had of the ring in the r400 were epic - most fun since the Atom i think - even found myself laughing outloud at how piss poor the wipers were exiting the carousel, which it went round in 3rd ridiculously quickly - think of being in a tumble drier - superb.

However, it was unbelievably slippy and could change from corner to corner which was even more drastic in the something so light.

If only Uncle R had taken the oompaloompa out with him :damnfunny

The early morning laps with big D in hot persuit were great fun. The combination of him and that car was probably the fastest road tyred car on saturday when he wasnt spinning   Other highlights included following Stu in his VX. He spent all lunchtime telling me how he had forgotten how to drive, then all afternoon flying round like a pro, making me wish i had never mentioned wet lines or kumho tyres to him  I reckon he will have been the fastest driver at Spa today since Donald went home.
Yes I agree the early laps were a great laugh, I was videoing so was happy to sit behind and get some footage. You were faster on the first section after the straight and then I'd catch you through the other stuff and obviously the straights but that's just power. It was interesting to see the differences in handling and watch you running out of track a couple of times. :thumbsup

I thought I had caught that drift that ended in me going off, not actually a spin as I was still 90 degrees to the track but stationary so had to take to the grass to get turned. That's why I love wet trackdays though it's so much fun. Sadly as it got wetter I found there was much more grip as long as you didn't do anything silly over the river sections.

I was suffering with gastroenteritis(sp) all weekend so was not having as much fun as I usually would.

Thanks to Frank for running me round searching for jump leads. (Andy they're in my boot. I can get them to you when you want). Thanks Ed for being my pax and driving most of the way home from Dover.

Managed to destroy my battery at Nurburg so missed the whole afternoon tracktime which I was pretty annoyed about. Then at Spa my Propshaft was moving too much and hitting the exhaust and my actuator broke so no boost from then on. My usual reliable Evo is now not so.......

Those that were fixing a certain car, can I have my jack back please? :thumbsup

Quick APB for what is probably the only tool not returned to my wee stash after the spannering at Spa late on Sat afternoon..

...a wee black screwdriver handle with 1/4" drive on the end, and the wee adapter to take screwdriver bits?

If by chance any of you who returned to the UK find this in your own toolkits / boots / travel bags, please let me know...I miss it already! It's quite cool because it also has a 1/4" female socket on the top so you can use it as an extension bar too.

Looks like I can replace it with a funky handled one from Screwfix for £4, but thought I would ask first. Ta!

donald, campbell, no idea who ended up with your jack and tools, as they were all away when i got back in off track, having sneaked 5 laps at the end. Hopefully whoever took responsibility for them see's this thread and returns them :)

No, to be fair to all involved, they were really diligent about returning stuff and I had the chance to check over what I thought was mine in good time. But of course in all the excitement I didn't take the time to dig out my Tools Manifest to check everything off (joke!) and the wee black handle seems to have been overlooked.

Not to worry!
