Re: BTCC knockhill this weekend
I put that on pause Mikey, and there was a bloke who looked very like Scotty standing there.

Ginetta driver kept it in place for the rest of the race!
There's a few more shots here if anyone is interested: http://www.flatoutphotography.com/gallery3/2012/BTCC

If you want photos of the grid girls, then you'll need to look on FB: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 068&type=1
Plato's grid girl was very tall - almost the height of the driver board!

The Porsche is cheating. All 4 wheels off the track.
I'm almost tempted to open a FB account...but I shall resist.
Great shots John.

I heard the commentators (on the box) saying something about 5 second penalties for drivers cheating in that manner.campbell wrote:The Porsche is cheating. All 4 wheels off the track.

Re: BTCC knockhill this weekend
I spent the day at the top of Duffus and quite enjoyed the day's racing. Plenty of action there. In the Porsche Cup, there was Rory trying to destroy the whole grid, but he only managed to take 2 out.
However, throughout the day we were perplexed by the seemingly random or inconsistent flag waving and SC deployment. We had a big screen nearby, but we could have missed somethings. 1st race Walkinshaw pulls off neatly on inside 150yds past exit of chicane and out comes the SC? Later in the day one of the Ginetta Jnrs buries his car in the tyres halfway around McIntyres and there isn't as much as a static yellow flag from the marshalls at Duffus, let alone a SC when there is a car in a genuinely dangerous place. Then in the 1st Porsche Cup after the SC came out, one guy was allowed to unlap himself by racing past Marshalls on the track lap after lap. Either we couldn't see what was really going off or the marshalling was very variable at best. Keenest brush wielding I have ever seen though - probably to warm up....

Tad harsh, did not look like that to me. Would need to see some footage of it again.mark7 wrote:I spent the day at the top of Duffus and quite enjoyed the day's racing. Plenty of action there. In the Porsche Cup, there was Rory trying to destroy the whole grid, but he only managed to take 2 out.
He certainly does not agree!

"I tried to get a good exit at the Hairpin but I had a big slide on the restart. That gave Daniel Lloyd the chance to get right in behind me. As we came over the crest, Andy Meyrick made a move on Daniel and he out braked himself. He got past Daniel but clipped me going into the first corner and the damage was done, spinning me off down Duffus dip and in to the path of Richard Plant. Sadly he was caught up in the accident and we were both forced to retire with damage. Not the result we were hoping for on home territory.
The stewards looked at the incident and Meyrick was excluded from the race."
Anyway - I was slightly underwhelmed at the 'racing' between touring cars and pissed off at Knockhill's ability to deal with the traffic in and out.
Mini's were a highlight certainly.

That's disappointing. You'd think after all these years...scottishselise wrote: pissed off at Knockhill's ability to deal with the traffic in and out.

Re: BTCC knockhill this weekend
I was lucky, got there before 8. Not that lucky as my friend who got there a little earlier ended up the hill at opposite side which wasn't ideal for getting out even mid afternoon. Another friend left from 30mins away at half 8 and joined us around half 10! I believe it was the same getting out, but again, we left early.
Re: BTCC knockhill this weekend
See below, no fault of Rory's, Meyrick was two cars back and lost it under braking trying a very ambitious lungescottishselise wrote:Tad harsh, did not look like that to me.
