Have been becoming increasingly convinced that it's not alcohol quantity alone which influences a hangover.
Was at a barn wedding in West Sussex a couple of years ago. They had an open bar with one of the local brews on tap straight from the old fashioned wooden cask. Drank gallons of that stuff that night, slept fitfully in a tent and woke up feeling fresh as a daisy if well aware I couldn't drive for a day or so!

Spent a week at Oktoberfest a few years ago and spent every day at the beer tents sampleing their wares from 12am to 2am (except the day I had an early night  ) and felt fine. Anyone who knows me also knows I would normally get drunk on Kaliber shandy but sitting all day, maybe doing a bit of singing or thigh slapping fuelled by currywurst, 1/2m hotdogs and saltbread. and I felt tine in the morning.

And it's isotonic apparently. Not sure the best tipple for down the gym tho? Gets a bit sweet after a couple.
I found it very fizzy.
Mate at worked tried to buy alcohol free after 10pm but alcohol laws meant he couldn't buy it. Probably just as much alcohol in chocolate liquers!
Same guy got ID'd buying an Irn Bru as it was 9.55pm and if he was under 18 at 10pm he'd need to leave the bar

"Alcohol free beer" ... having my first this evening...

Was getting board of diet soft drinks and a beer in the evening was getting all too easy during the hot summer months so thought I would give Beck Blue a go.

Well it tastes like Becks (not the best beer including alcohol admittedly) but its hitting the spot well enough and without a dizzy feeling 30 mins later (ps im a shandy drinker at the best of times).

:thumbsup

I have an indirect financial interest in this company.... http://brewmeister.co.uk/

New product due shortly is "Crude Ale" which will shortly be replacing Becks Blue as the NA lager of choice in the North Sea.... :thumbsup

Super. Will give it a bash.
Not a big fan of the Becks one but the erdinger is pretty refreshing.

"Erdinger Alcohol-Free Wheat Beer (0.5%) - 24 x 500ml bottles"

0.5% is not alcohol free.

I enjoy a couple of bottles of "Saint Omer Panache" at the weekend and feel tipsy ! (0.5% too)

http://www.bringabottle.co.uk/compare-p ... y-25cl.asp

Get 10 bottles in Asda for £1.80 ish , i know im a lightweight and i just don't care.

Actually what is annoying about going out drinking other that the look you get from your mates when you order a pint of shandy (50/50) is the price is still the same as a full pint !

The website says it is 1%, that extra 0.5% must of tipped you over the edge!

Oh yes. That's not what the bring a bottle page shows. That's a relief, I wouldn't want to touch the 1% stuff!
