Hi Derek.
I had the wheels done by MMC so they were ready for me collecting the car from new. Graeme organised it so I cant remember where he said he would have it done but I am sure he will be able to say since he said they used them regularly.

Called Powdertec in Glasgow (recommended by JJ). Taking the undertray in next week for its transformation to black! 8)

He's only charging £15 for it!!! :D

I'll have a word when I'm in and ask if he'll do that as a deal for Scottish Elises.

Good stuff... Kenny's diffuser could probably use a wee repaint.... after my angle grinding  (Although a wee touch up with some black paint would suffice)

dezzy... was that a special rate or was that the standard going rate? Can you post a pic and let me know what you think of the finish when you've got it back as I think I'd like to get this done also.

For £15... FFS, it would have cost me that in paint alone...

Picked up my diffuser from Powdertec in Glasgow this morning. They've done a pretty good job. It's not perfect - there are a few rough bits on the road-facing side of the diffuser but the guy said that was pitting that he couldn't remove when cleaning it up before powdercoating. Fair enough I guess. Plus, nobody's going to really see those bits anyway.

So, except for that, it's a good job and looks cool in matt black now. 8) I'll get it back on the car before the weekend and post a picture up here. I've got that rubber edging stuff (thanks Simon :thumbsup), so I'll glue that on and it'll be looking great! :D Still not convinced that the bolts won't look out of place, but I'll see what they look like and maybe buy black ones. I've got silver rear towing eyes, so I might paint them black too.

Michael at Powdertec said he'll do that price for anyone else who wishes to get their diffuser powdercoated black. £15. Website: http://www.wheelsrefurbished.co.uk/index.htm. Tel: 0141 420 6063. I'll stick it in the offers section too.

Cheers,
D

Will post pictures at the weekend. They'll probably just be crappy camera phone pics unless I can borrow a friend's digital camera. In fact, someone might have one at the autotest on Saturday, so I might be able to get a picture of it then.

I am a fecking idiot. Was gluing the black rubber edging on my freshly powdercoated black diffuser when the fecking superglue dripped down the edge of the diffuser. It's dripped in a few places and when it dries goes a pale white-ish colour, which obviously looks fecking stupid on the black. Fecking raging!

I'm going to need to get it powdercoated again . . . and be a lot more careful when sticking the rubber edging back on again. Why is nothing ever fecking simple?!

Black marker!
Save yourself £15 - you'll probably do it again next time!
