Despite :

my car breaking down 3 times on Friday because it didn't like the rain.
My work phoning all day and night over the weekend and making me miss dinners etc.
Having to share a room with woody!
Getting pulled by the police on the way down the road

I had a great time! :thumbsup Thanks guys for all the effort involved. :cheers

UPDATED

Reference Dom's remark, this is not a post that I enjoy making after a great weekend.

I had booked the Invercauld Arms for 68 people, and that was the number still on the Database on Sunday and the final number that I gave to the restaurant. Mike had advised me to take payment up front, but there has never been a problem in the previous five years, there was the odd breakdown but I could absorb that. This time 48 people turned up, which means that I now have to pay the Hotel for the 20 that did not turn up at £10.50 each equalling £210.

I have included a list of those that did not turn up, I know there were a lot of hangovers, but nobody informed me that they would not be going, so I could not have cancelled their place anyway on the day.

I hope it is not too much to ask those that were obligated if they could pay the relevant amounts into Mikes account as you did for the other payments, details are on page one of TT. The Alexandre Hotel were very good in agreeing to not charge those that did not book in, as were the village hotels, but they were entitled to for loss of business as a result. However there is no way that can happen with as many as 20.

I think I have this correct, if there is anybody on there that should not be please let me know, likewise anybody that I have missed out. You can check the database yourself at:-

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/tut ... 2&sortBy=1

1) moggy x 2 PAID
2) woody PAID
3) bertieduff x 2
4) benny PAID

7) DDtB PAID
8) Kenny PAID
9) kerryxeg x 2
10) greyrigg
11) Lazydonky PAID
12) Mike(Sudworth)

Total = 9

A few of us above I know headed directly South on the Sunday. Ignorance is not an excuse, but I hadn't taken the above into account; sorry for the additional hassle.

Great weekend all,

really good banter catching up with some od faces (its not that i dont see you alot tut, but you do hav an old face :-) )

had a fantastic run on saturday with brian and tut, mainly Brian once tut decided his tyres were unable to keep up with us (that and the fact brian and myself have a poor sense of direction and had to do a few U-turns) we also had a cracking lunch at the gairloch hotel, after doing a little bit of WRC style repairs to brian car... using a huge hammer, a pallet, a block of concrete and a trolley jack - making the most of the tools we could access!!!

Also i must say... the young lady working in the gairloch hotel  :D amazing, i didnt get a chance to mention it at the time with claire being there... haha

sorry i couldnt get involved on saturday night and sunday, but i must say, i had a great time at the speedfest, after the weekend the z4 needs new... well everything, brakes, tyres, paint, window... but my got it was worth it!!

best weekend in a long time, really enjoyed KH in reverse in the tropical rain, some really good laps with soctty, ali and alan... oh and dom.... i have the full vid of your spin :-) its a classic!

Thanks to Mike, Tut and craig for their organisation.

I also didn't realise deposits had been paid for the lunch on the Sunday and I'm sure I'm not alone there.

Don't recall it working like that before and nobody mentioned it on the Saturday either when a few of us suggested we weren't going to make it. Did ask a couple of people about the lunch and they said it was £12 or something, payable on the day at Braemar, so when everyone shot off happily on Sunday morning when we were clearly pottering around and obviously not coming on the run.. didn't think there was any issues.

Regardless though, will settle up the costs so nobody is out of pocket.

:thumbsup

Although you pay on the day as at the Hotels, I have to know how many are coming as they can not produce 70 meals off the cuff, and so I use the number on the Database and I have to pay if there is a shortfall on that.

The same on the Saturday for the hog roast, we had to order for 110 with them, and they charged us on that basis regardless of less turning up. Plus that had to be paid up front out of Mike's account, as was KH, so we had to get funds in before hand for those.
