I think we're comparing apples with nuclear fission...

Totally agree that the VHPD is a lumpy, roaring beauty of an engine (albeit fragile) where the Honda is a bit anodyne at low revs - but I'd say a standard K was just as anodyne, only gets nice to listen to when it's tuned, IMO.

90% of any character is of course probably defined by the exhaust! Witness what you can do with a totally standard K by merely adding a same-backpressure stainless unit.

Anyway let's get back on topic :-)

Ok, supercharger kits for the duratec http://www.jam-sport.co.uk/supercharger.asp doesn't state any power figures though.

How much power can the PG1 cope with?? and what on it normally breaks??

Certainly 240-250hp, a few of those around, and Turbo Technics top output on David Brown's Exige was 280.

The box is rated to a pretty conservative torque level, but I've never heard of one breaking first hand. Plus, uprating with steel caged bearings would be a sensible move as well.

Why are you posting the link for all to see and not sneaking off to buy it yourself?!

It is ideal, but to expensive for me as a track toy..........it would solve the K problem however :?

What, the one that's mostly to do with your head?

It's an easy sell, 'cos there's nothing to do to it. Literally everything (barring perhaps Nitrons, but if it's S2 LSS, it'll be fine for track work) has been done, so no money to spend on anything barring maintenance.

Betcha you can't find an S1 for £10K that you'd say that about...
