Scotty, have you had a letter back? I'm guessing it will just be £60 and 3 points? Reason I ask is that I have just had a NIP delivered today. Caught on Friday (13th!!) just north of Dunblane on the A90 at 80mph.

What is the process once you have declared who the driver is? I leave for Brazil on Monday and don't return till end of September. Can I leave my paper part of my license and Lauren can deal with it for me, or would it be easier for Lauren to take the points as she will be at home.

i only sent it away on Friday, so not heard back yet.

I would go into your local nic and see if they can sort it out?

Don't worry folks, I have no real intention of passing the points over to Lauren. I just dont want things to go pear shaped because I won't be in country.

For those who have had points in the past, what's the process once you send away the NIP? Do you need to wend in your card part of your licence along with the paper part? Are any more signatures required after the NIP?

I sent my nip into Tayside Polis' headquarters (well hand delivered, as it ain't far from me) and got the letter through just before I went on me hols. Got 28 days to pay the £60 and get a lovely endorsement on my licence

So did you just have to send in a cheque along with your paper counterpart or was the photo part also needed? Did you need to sign anything?

once you have signed for driving and sent the NIP back they will then send out th COFP.

Lauren will be able to deal with that by sending off your licence and the cheque for £60 :thumbsup

Just what I wanted to hear, thanks. Will Lauren need to send off both parts of my licence?

I have the 'Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty Notice' which must be sorted within 28 days (27 July in my case), just a case of posting off both parts of licence plus payment, or I will be doing it in person as I'm away offshore on Monday and need my licence for collecting a hire car upon my return.

Probably do it this afternoon actually, along at the JP Court in Bell Street
