It's not like they factory is exactly swamped building other cars since the Evora and Elise sell in such tiny numbers these days. It is all a legacy of the wasted effort that went into the Bahar pipe dream, or perhaps more to do with the fact they owe loads of money to their suppliers?

Rumors are that it is parts supply.

My biggest issue with Lotus at the moment is their lack of communication...they really need to sort their PR out and talk to their customers. There is only so much that desire for their products is going to take them, after that people are going to start looking elsewhere.

Correct, if, for example, Caterham where to produce something that was Elise like in concept but using today's technology and they made in small enough numbers so as to avoid the euro-crat requirements, then I could see a lot of potential customers looking there instead. The barrier to entry is huge and the scope for making money small, so I'm not sure it will ever actually happen.

Cheers,

Always loved how AMGs sound really aggressive, V8 engine note is my favorite of all.

Edinburgh Mercedes (Newbridge) were offering some crazy deals on C63 Coupes. Offered us a fully loaded C63 for Exige money or £6k down (I think) and 3 years for £600 on personal lease with option to buy. Was seriously tempted and they had them on the shop floor.

Now that is interesting - who was the sales guy you were talking to?

I think it was a guy called Stuart, youngish lad on the left hand side of the showroom about the 2nd set of the desks in.

He started up the AMG (yummy noise) and offered us an extended drive but the weather was a little bit too icy to take him up on the offer.

We had a shot of the C63 AMG Saloon years ago when we were thinking of chopping in the Evo, absolutely lovely car. Probably not as delicate a driving experience as an M3 and decidingly more loose. As a drivers car the M3 is probably slightly better but there something a little bit more "lunatic" about the C63 and also less of a common sight.

I missed out on a very attractive lease deal a couple of years back on C63's
£6k and £670 per month from memory over 24 months
Certainly far less than the depreciation!
I keep looking for signs of these cars coming back on the market at much cheapness

:cheers
