Drivetrain losses shouldnt be 25% :O Most times we've had both cars tested the losses at the wheels is around 15%.

Gambler - 316bhp/ton :S really?! Thats not that far off off mine (and mine runs around 450bhp on a good day). I had assumed you were running more or less the same power as Fee now, and about 200kg lighter :S She's up about 380bhp/ton

650bhp = 550AWHP
1350kg + 60 + 10kg error = 1420kg
Power to Weight = 387bhp per ton

I remember your car being quite light ~1150kg, and you must be around 90-100kg. So estimate around 1250kg for a race weight. For you to have 316 bhp/ton that would mean a wheel power of just under 400bhp, and going by your 25% that would give something around 540bhp.

If you use the 15% that would put you at 460WHP, and still in Class B with ~370bhp/ton.

I really thought you were running 600+bhp though :S


My car should be in C, but I will more than likely run it in B. It was doing 57/58 in races last year on very old tyres, and bent suspension LOL

Mikie711 - This series, whilst trying to be easier for more standard cars to compete & half the price, is also aiming to fill the gap left by Time Attack. There are a lot of Scottish folk that did Time Attack, especially just the KH round.

I am running a wee bit more power now. It will not be near 650hp though. Not sure exactly how much as I have not been on a Dyno. Most of my mapping is actually done during race days by email with Andy Forrest.

When I ran the 54s lap at Knockhill, I was running a pumped GT30 which was producing 530 at the crank. Only found out when was getting mapped the day before and did not have time to get it re-mapped before the race as Andy was away that weekend. It actually had 250hp at 5200rpm and then 500 at 5700. It was not the easiest to drive.

Car has always been quite lardy due to the heavy cage. It weighed in at whiteline at 1240 kg sans the fatty behind the wheel who is 95kg

I made the weight calculation estimating a 20% drivetrain loss.

I doubt that I will be doing SSL if I am also doing Time Attack.

i was going by the weight at Snet years back.. i just remember it being 11xx something.

My 2dr is 1187 with a little fuel, elec windows, elec mirrors. I'm about 90kg.

Fee is doing the full year of TA, TOTB and 3 of the 4 SLS rounds. I'll do whatever I can hehe

You must have got the weight wrong at Snett. The car was corner weighted in Dumfries before snett and was 1200+ back then.

We took some weight out and then replaced all of it with the safety gear and it weighed in at 1240 at Whiteline just before Knockhill. It is very heavy and no one could really work out why as it was pretty stripped out. It did have a very chunky bolt in cage that had been added too. That shell is gone now though and its been replaced by a 2dr shell

Busy year for Fee. I struggle to get the time to make the Time Attack events with zero testing. The joys of a 9-5 job I suppose

Shes the same.... doesnt have any time for testing during the last couple of years. She didnt work in 2010

Strange that its so heavy, but the 6speed must have added 20kg or so. I have a huge heavy CDS weld in cage with front triangulation and seam welded shell. Really didnt think the 2dr was any lighter though.

6 Speed adds more than 20Kg, think it is more than 40Kg heavier. 5spd boxes are tiny in comparison.

Cage was just a bolt in one which had been welded in and added too. The CDS tubes that were added were very heavy but had got them for free and it was put in after one of my many engine deaths by oil surge.

Car was about 50-60kg heavier than it should have been and no one really knew why. Most of it had to be the cage and someone must have hidden some lead somewhere!

All you big boys(and gal) light weight and big power puts my 1450kgs full interior and 380bhp (crank hp)at the time 57sec knockhill lap into perspective I feel.

The easiest way to detect power is in the top speed on the pit straight at knockhill. The power to weights pretty much match in similar cars top speed on the straight.

Mine was pretty slow on the top speed stakes on all rounds of TA.

I think for this series to be a feeder series it should be full production cars/full interiors etc like mine is. Still even got the factory sat nav in mine.

Don - yup, i havent set a lap with full power yet I think my fastest VMAX on the pit straigh at KH is 117mph which is just gay compared to Fee's 130+ :O

I can do easy 58's defending/trying to pass with low boost (still about 400bhp), and Fee did a low 55 in 2010 with about 550bhp. She did another few 55s in 2012 (on low boost) and a 56 on MSA 1A tyres in 2011.

I think the lower classes (C & D) will be where most if not all the full trim cars will be. You up for it?

Given BigD's Banzai style I'm not sure the kerbs matter ... I mean there's all that grass on the other side of the kerbs ... remember Ledanon, D?
