311?
Re: 311?
Craig, increase in weight by 20% but it has 80% more power than a 211.r10crw wrote:Its grown on me massively in just a few hours but have to agree the weight seems really disappointing. Probably around 300Kg heavier than a 340R, without a windscreen?
Remember Ive scales if anyone wants to "check" their weights.
I have also just read that the car has new composite panels which are 40% lighter than the fibreglass ones.

I love everything about the car - if I had the money I'd buy one in a flash.C7Steve wrote:Craig, increase in weight by 20% but it has 80% more power than a 211.r10crw wrote:Its grown on me massively in just a few hours but have to agree the weight seems really disappointing. By today's standards in the modern Lotus world - 900Kg is light. Still under 1000kg even with a driver so still easily 450bhp/ton which is going to be rapid by any measure.

The engine / gearbox combo in this 311 would be double that of the K-series in the 340R I bet..C7Steve wrote:Craig, increase in weight by 20% but it has 80% more power than a 211.r10crw wrote:Its grown on me massively in just a few hours but have to agree the weight seems really disappointing. And wasn't the 340R quoted weight "optimistic" in reaching 340bhp/tonne

Yeah dont get me wrong, Id give my right arm for one, amazing spec but for the money I think Id rather have the Exige and whilst the performance would be great for a start you would soon get used to it. The 340R wasnt all that in performance terms but the feel was 100% and I believe that was through the weight, even an S1 only 30/40Kg more felt fat compared to it...Rosssco wrote:The engine / gearbox combo in this 311 would be double that of the K-series in the 340R I bet..C7Steve wrote:Craig, increase in weight by 20% but it has 80% more power than a 211.r10crw wrote:Its grown on me massively in just a few hours but have to agree the weight seems really disappointing. Edited to say;
Just looked at the spec, so have changed my mind on the £82k. Sub 7:00 ring time 0-60 less than 3seconds. Top speed 180 with different gearing.
Race version is £115k
And still no bloody heater
Not read the bunff.
I take it the 450HP is only the Squ box?
what the HP if you dont have the Squ box?

probably be the same box as always used, just that it isn't carrying so much weight around they can up the power with it…
the 2-11 had the 270ps kit available as an upgrade on the H pattern box where as the S2 Exige was only ever available with the 260ps code

Re: 311?
evora gt4 was approx 115-120k+vat iirc Scotty.
You could probably spec it higher than that, with spare and such like, one set of wheels won't cut it.
big, heavy and dull though mate.

Re: 311?
Yeah was going to say, there's more torque (345 vs. 295lb/ft) than the Evora S, but a chunk less weight (1430 vs. 930ish kg), so perhaps its the same 'box, especially as I'd imagine a gearbox oil cooler is there / an option..?TarmacTerrorist wrote:probably be the same box as always used, just that it isn't carrying so much weight around they can up the power with it…

Steve the 70 later tank is a fia bag tank, you can fit that to any elise/exige. They are about £1500 + and lave a expire date. If you want a. 60ltr tank for your car drop me a pm I can get you a deal.C7Steve wrote:Larger fuel tank now, forged wheels (fancy a set of these) and Michelin Super Sport tyres.
