I do like the white face. I recon it would be the perfect “alternative” to my 16600.

Funnily enough I was thinking something similar about the 16600. Might wait for the new subs to arrive 1st though before deciding. Quite liking the GMT as well just now though!....

It is a beauty - waiting lists are a killer though, eh Dave?

The waiting issue for me will be waiting for the economy / firm profits to pick up.

Both good choices, the new subs will probably have the glide lock clasp and the solid links which are a big plus. On the other hand they will also have a Cyclops which i don't like. There is speculation that they will bring out a more modestly sized version of the Deep Sea which would almost certainly have the good bits without the bad – we will have to wait and see.

the WG subs with the ceramic bezel was the first of the 'new subs' to come out and they have the glide locks. I haven't yet seen the new S/S version, but I'm unaware of any of the current s/s line-up that has the glide-lock, say for example, the GMT2c. It would be the first of the s/s models to feature the glide-lock and I wonder whether they'll bother. Hope so.

On the cyclops front, remember the 'true' submariner has no date function - there's technically no such thing as a 'non-date' sub, but rather there are such things as submariners with a date function ;) On that basis there will be a sub sans-cyclops without a doubt. All depends on whether you can live without the date function. As a Daytona owner, I'm guessing Dave can ;)

No where near the level of quality of the watches some of you chaps have...but I was needing a new every day watch so picked up one of these:

Its a Casio EDIFICE WaveCeptor and app gets updated 6 times a day to keep it super accurate.

Pretty cheap and pretty good for strapping on and getting on with your day- very happy with it :)

Isn't it a bit funny that Dave's Taiwan special Daytona is worth more than the Elise he drives...?
