Who said this? I'm seeing no other reporting of it so far?
I think it was Phil Hammond. Will double check as soon as it's on iPlayer

Like I said earlier in this thread (page 28), I sincerely hope the divide in our society heals. It's going to take time. But it shouldn't need to be achieved simply by immediately ceding to pressures from the 45% (another failure to recognise democracy?). It should take time and consideration to properly address what needs addressing, acknowledging independence would also have taken time.

Stayed up last night and was pleased with most guests' responses, on both sides. With exceptions, who the 'No-biased' BBC seemed talented in finding for their studio  Tommy Sheridan anybody… him and others still ranting about media bias, corporate bullying, and so on. Nauseating frankly.

My Facebook news feed is heavy with graceless comments today - reading it is like picking a scab :blackeye Keep above it and move forward; but based on the iconography, memes, etc during the campaign, one can easily imagine the same folks' response had it been the other result…

But the 45% would have been higher had they not offered the carrot that's now disappearing

I'm not sure it would, I've not seen anyone express this as a reason for their vote.

45% of the turnout = 38% of the electorate. The Yea campaign was an absolute disappointment as it simply failed to address the questions many had and that is reflected in their failure to convince a majority.

Where do you get that it's disappearing - nothing but confirmation all morning that the promises would be upheld and a timescale given. :?
Yes got a reasonable % of the vote but not enough to win - that's all.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one then. They presumably only offered them because they thought it would swing things in their direction so unless they want to rerun the vote they should stick to what they promised.

Thought that she came over well, considered things deliberately and never spouted off, which makes me reach for the off button.
