Another Helicopter ditches into the north sea....
Re: Another Helicopter ditches into the north sea....
Probably not. That is why I ruled out blade detachment at the start as that is what happens in that case.
With the blades slowing very quickly it would be the difference between driving a car at speed head on into a concrete wall, or into a haystack.

Hey John,
I'm surprised you've voiced your opinion. Thought you would leave it to gossiping behind a PM rather than voicing your own opinion - you know exactly what I'm talking about.
My question was to Tut who being a ex chopper pilot I would say is our resident expert.
If you don't want to read about it or remember the 16 guys that died leaving 16 family's behind then don't f****** look.
You forget I too work in O&G and have to go offshore in a chopper too.
So jump back to being wannabe racer and moaning about tyre pressures.
Before any mods jump in telling me to calm down, I'm not interested.

Nothing wrong with reasoned discussion on a subject close to lots of people's hearts and livelihoods, but can we park the personal insults please.

I don't normally go for insults. It is a subject very personal to me, we have a representative from the platform attending the service today and everyone in the industry is effected. I accept that everyone is entitled to there opinions and questions, just as everyone is entitled to disagree with them.campbell wrote:Nothing wrong with reasoned discussion on a subject close to lots of people's hearts and livelihoods, but can we park the personal insults please.

So, sorry Gareth I shouldn't have reacted the way I did, you just irked me on that one, no need to take it personal and take that the attitude you did..
