What happened to the hovercraft that was in service on a trial for a bit a few years ago?

I just cannot see a ferry being anything other than a niche that is an advantage to a small number of commuters - at this stage everything is welcome, of course, but it's not going to "fix" the problem. Hopefully everything will settle down as people adjust their journeys and to some extent their working patterns where possible.
I agree with remote working - of course it's never that simple as there is always the challenge of communications and trust (are you doing what I want you to be doing, or are you sitting there in your pants, 8th cup of tea, catching up on Jeremy Kyle whilst firing off the odd email?).
Cheers,
Robin

Yeah, even if I had the option of working from home I'd probably get little done.....
But my company employs 2000 people, very few of whom could work from home- even the desk based employees need access to restricted and secret networks.
Must admit, after my moan about the diversions yesterday, credit where it's due the signage had vastly improved by the time I went home.
I took the full recommended route home (past Knockhill) and it was ok.
Train this morning though- I've even got a seat and free wifi!

Trains were interesting going south over the bridge last night, hoards of dockers at Inverkeithing, empty trains not stopping at Inverkeithing, no one seemed to know what trains stopped at Dalmeny, hundreds of people were on then off a train three times until they decided it was going to stop at Dalmeny.
Then Dalmeny was a traffic jam, I can see why there are traffic restrictions there now, but doesn't help if there is no where else to park.
Left the house at 4.15am for a traffic free drive this morning.

This list is 50% English ... so you're asking yourself

I don't think there is any obvious blame here. Sure there are individual decisions that reviewed in isolation with the benefit of hindsight could have been handled better. Show me any project where that isn't true. There may even be some decisions that with hindsight are obviously wrong. Meanwhile the flip side of any such decision is that closing the bridge (or restricting it to one carriageway) causes huge disruption and is very unpopular. You can imagine the "health and safety gone mad" type of headlines coupled with "authority squanders countless millions doing needless work on a bridge that isn't broken and is about to be closed".
So if you want to know who is really to blame, it is the divisive nature of media (including the internet, these days) and the impact this has on decision makers.
Cheers,
Robin

I don't think asking for further explanation is anything close to hate, I'm certainly not feeling it anyways.
