I've been working on the gunshow....it will look fine.
TBH, it's probably in 3rd place so not likely.

Bit surprised at the slowness of the Heritage Chronos reselling speed just now so definitely going to wait for a bit until they drop in price.

Love the GMT2c, it's even better in the flesh and I was really impressed when handling one.... but not convinced I need 2 watches with PCLs. Also need to have a sub in the collection at some point... but not overly keen on the current RRP when there are so many other watches to get too!

Didn't get a PO from Beaverbrooks as they didn't have the one I wanted. Current thinking is to pick up a used one at some point for an every day wearer... probably the 42mm.

Those 24 hours Cosmonautes are too hard for me to tell the time on...

The collection is definitely coming along though.....here's the latest one....

The GMT is even nicer in the flesh Dave. I nearly bought one on the spot when I tried one on.

You looking to buy new or used?? Not hard to get hold of either way as far as I know.

Guy it work ordered a Ploprof. He showed me a picture of it before he went to collect it and I thought it was bowf :puke . He went to pick it up in Jersey and immediately handed it back - just didn't like it in the flesh.

I would love a SD not a DSSD. Subs are nice but I hate the cyclops. Good thread on TZ about a guy who removed it. Lots of finger pointing but almost equally split with those who agree it's an improvement.

I would like to pick up a contemporary omega to go with my vintage seamaster but would have to be used an auto not quartz. That said the sports rolex seem to be timeless (no pun intended). As far as I can see they seem to hold there value if bought well - kind of like a lotus :D

(I'm sure you know Stewart) not all Subs have the cyclops. I too am not a fan of it.
Mine is the 1406M.

Yeah, true but I would be demented without a date wheel. That said, I have been wearing my new sieko all week and it dawned on me last night how little I look at it. As I sit in front of a computer way longer than I should, I now just glance to the bottom right of my screen instead of looking at my wrist :( . In fact when I am not at a screen I will always have my phone with me although I would look at my watch before I would take my phone out of my pocket to check. Seems like we have come in one big loop :D

What we need Paul is a watch pool.
Would save us all a fortune. Borrow each others watches but you've got to bring something to the party.
A timex is not a fair swap for a Rolex/Panerai/Hublot/AP etc.
:cheers

Getting to the stage where there's likely a bucket load of repetion this thread, but Stewart, sounds like you want an old Sea Dweller rather than a 14060M/New ceramic Sub.

Automatic Watch - Adjusting Backwords?

Post by Stewart » Tue Jan 04, 2011 11:22 pm

Earlier in the thread I mentioned that I had bought a day date automatic Seiko 5 Sports. I am heading to the USA on Thursday and will therefore need to wind back my watch by 5 hours. Is it okay to do that with the automatic movement? I am assuming that I should avoid doing this between 9pm-4am type of thing if it is possible.

Thanks
Stewart
