My other half got this last month and I have been sneaking a wear of it over the last couple of weeks.

Limited edition 1/200 Rose Gold PAM00238. Cracking bit of wristclock and makes my Sub feel like a lightweight...

I have this, its not big imo, its also not nasty.

I think its pretty classy and fitted my criteria of leather strap dressy, and its nicely made.

Subjective thing watches, but i like how its not shouty and look at me like some of the more mainstream stuff.

Not sure about the holding value thing but a used price for one is still more than what i paid for mine new 2yr ago, but i buy watches because i like them, not as an investment.
I've been googling and it seems that the IWC is only 1.5mm bigger than my 16600 which is not big on me. On the down side i have such a long list of expenses just now that it will have to wait.

I'm also with you on the "shouty" aspect. I don't like blingy things.

It's probably been asked before, but I'm not going through all the pages to find out.

Where in Edinburgh or Livingston ( ) would the knowlegable ones take a Tag for a new battery?

I dont think the matt watches (even Rolex) will be an investment. I reckon they cost more than a "factory" offering to buy, but will be worth less as time goes on, and they go out of fashion?

I thought this was a "factory" special edition rather than after market. If it is the watch version of a Corsa with flared arches and a spoiler then it is a waste of a nice watch.

I saw one in the window of watchclub last time we were in there, and internetted when I saw it then - Paula also mentioned one for sale earlier in this thread and I think similar was said then.

edit - halfway down page 48 :D

My wife has bought me a Black Monster for my birthday this weekend, to contrast my white Baby Monster:

I've put the black one back on it's bracelet, and I think I'm going to keep the white one on the leather strap for something different.

Just took my Rolex Sub in to get serviced and have been told that the current turn around from Rolex is 25 weeks  . Due to them moving premises apparently and should improve by the end of summer. Decided not to but the the Raymond Weil chrono in the end. Hadn't really noticed the roman numerals until it was mentioned on here and I have to agree that over time it would have become annoying. So still looking for a sub 1k chrono that doesn't have a metal strap. Suggestions from those in the know, can't find anything I like on the high street.

Apols for putting you off with the roman numerals comment  .....so had a quick look for what I might go for per your remit.

A decent shout would be a Steinhart Nav B Chrono if still looking for a semi-dress type chrono. Costs about £700 with leather strap. Very similar to the classic IWC Flieger Spitfire Chrono.

Image

There is a Sinn 356 at about £900. This is a sub 40mm crown so a touch smaller than the other two.

Image

....or a Glycine Combat chrono if looking for something a bit more funky @ about £1100.

Image

Keep in mind if you see a nice chrono with a bracelet you can always change the strap.

cheers.

Got it the last time I was in Hawaii as it was all the rage and I needed something that I could take in the sea etc.
