I know a couple of coppers and if their daily working lives are anything to go by I would find it hard to believe that the cops in this case have nothing better to do than case a lotus around the town. Pay the fine and move on.If you don't want any attention from the police buy a car that runs on slicks, is powers by a GSXR 1000 engine and weighs 300KG and take out your tension on the race track.
As far as the caterham vs lotus thing goes, I've had experience of both cars and both are excellent in their own ways, personal preference rules here.

Totally , I am sharing the bad experience I am having with the local plod.
Its all fair and well saying you think the police have better things to do than chase me around , but you cant posibly comment on that unless you are in my position. 23yr old (who prob looks about 20) driving an bright orange , loud , high performance sports car as a daily driver. It may be quite hard to believe that the boys in blue , who keep society in order n all , are wasting there time on me but it aint for me , I know whats going on .
Just to recap , I had been stopped no less than 5 times prior to the pull for the reg plate . The car has been on the road less than 4 months.
So do I let the barsteward run over the top of me ? Do I go out and buy a golf tdi or a bmw compact? No. I have worked hard to get the car I have wanted for along time , I am not gonna let some up his arse copper ruin my fun just cause he's jealous.
I guess some people just cant hack seeing others achieve. I had 2 friends from school who were coppers , both would boast about how they had a great job with a great salary
blah blah yada yada...I think theres a few like that in barrhead especially the younger ones.
Perhaps this one dude in particluar whos is the same age as me, is realising that his job isnt as superior as he first though.
who knows , maybe hes jealous , maybe its my face , maybe they think I am a drug dealer , maybe they think my cars is alot more expensive than it really is . I dunno ........
Anyway I am dealing with it in my own way , if its a bad way then Ill learn, I am still young.

. So you are certainly not alone but the main point is that when you are in this situation you need to focus on not doing anything that will give anyone an excuse to stop you. If you do this you will not get into trouble. You should not worry why you think they are stopping you as you will never know. They are the police and you and I are not. I often drive my Lotus through Barrhead on my way to Paisley from Stewarton and I would observe that I see more than a fair share of police in that area.
