Basically stalking someone on LinkedIn once you get their cv.... And then seeing which if the SE massive they are connected to :D

I'm looking for a programme manager just now but technical roles are still proving difficult.

We're also looking for Java capable or just smart person with programming aptitude. It's a more junior post so would suit recent graduate.

That said, if anyone knows of smart software engineer types that are looking for a job in Edinburgh area, then please put them in touch with me. We're mostly interested in the smart bit, so people with unusual backgrounds are not an issue, provided they are smart.

Cheers,
Robin

I've found it to be pretty useful. I don't mind the agencies calling me as it suits the way I work to have plenty of connections and possible jobs. Our industry is busy, LinkedIn is a good way of getting your skills matched up to potential work.

I've just found a nice position in Glasgow as the job I've been on for the last two years is coming to a close. LinkedIn was involved in that so I'm pretty happy with the set up at the moment.

Of course the downside to LinkedIn is that i get at least one call a day from an agency not on our PSL wanting to place a candidate that, in all likelihood, doesn't exist. But that's a different story!
