You don't need to go as far as the SNP Manifesto, it's in the parties constitution:

"To be in the driving seat of our own destiny and to shape our own future is a natural desire. It is what we all hope for ourselves and it is what the SNP believes is right for Scotland. We will achieve independence only when a majority of our fellow citizens are persuaded that it offers the best future for our country. Our success will depend on the strength of our arguments and the clarity of our vision. So, starting this summer we will undertake new work to persuade a majority of the Scottish people that independence is the best future for our country."

Why do Orkney and Shetlands keep voting Lib Dem?

What's the point?

From what I understand (which is very little...) Orkney and Shetland are just very different. They also have a bit of an independence movement on the go, however, my understanding is that they believe they are more Nordic (maybe?) and less Scottish, so when the referendum happened in 2014, the Yes side wrongly assumed they would be very much Yes zones. As it turned out, they weren't. I guess the big 2 (3 in Scotland) have never done our islanders any favours when they have been in power, and perhaps they side with the Lib Dems on the basis that they are the lesser of the evils...?

Indeed, they are the very definition of a single issue party. The majority of their followers don't seem to mind.

I am very much against Scottish independence but i must admit, it would have been interesting to see the results of the first scottish parliamentary election - and then the results of the second.

Ironically the only people who keep bringing it up are the press and no voters. The vote is done, move on people. If everyone keeps on about it the the press will never let it go and we will be having the same arguments in 10 years time.

Tis like Norfolk, they are all shagging each other so keep it in the family.

One votes Lib Dem, they all vote Lib Dem.

Eh? I refer you to my previous copy from the SNP constitution Mike..

Sturgeon has repeatedly refused to rule out another indyref, and uses the consistant weak reasoning of "when the people of Scotland want it.." which basically means when ever they think they can win..

Remind me again

Who announced a summer campaign to make the case for independence

Who is camped outside hoyrood?

Who is standing screaming at biscuit factories?

Whose supporters keep screaming indyref2

Where do the YES2 stickers come from?

Who keeps moving the EU referendum debate to Scotland being forced out as they already know the result?

I'll give you a clue

It ain't the Tory party and its supporters

I'd love the SNP to concentrate on running Scotland instead of flag waving.

How does she decide what the will of the people is?

Hold a Referendum to decide whether to hold a further once in a lifetime Referendum?

So looks like I was spot on for the Regions votes.

1. SNP - 41.7%
2. Conservative - 22.9%
3. Labour - 19.1%

I thank you...........

Not to mention Eck saying in an interview that Boris becoming PM may be significant enough to instigate Indyref2
