BCA

Post by rossybee » Thu Sep 13, 2007 11:50 am

This is a very serious thread :thumbsup

It follows from an in-depth discussion amongst Jock7ers (most noteably a certain Jason Liddell   ) in the pitlane at KH last year, and in a little more detail (but still very inconclusive) during the run down to Autosport Show in January in my RS6

Now, since the original discussion, I have since become very partial to porridge (Scott's Porage Oats - accept no substitue) - a proper breakfast in my view - heated in the microwave with milk, and a liberal dollop of raspberry jam stirred in prior to consumption.

Talks of Coco Pops, Cheerios and the like got seriously dismissed by Jason without a moments thought, so careful with any suggestions/preferences.

And remember, this is facking serious

Oh, and btw, BCA = Breakfast Cereal Analysis 8)

Anything that changes the colour of the milk is just plain WRONG!

I'm going through a purist phase at the moment... unseasoned (ie. no suger or raisins/banana/other fruity carp additives) Cornflakes. I've done Bran Flakes in the past, but any food that *intentionally* affects your body's workings must be treated with suspicion
.... - heated in the microwave with milk, and a liberal dollop of raspberry jam stirred in prior to consumption
Hmmm.... purist approach but with a 'modern twist' in the preparation

I gave away my Scotts Porridge Oats to my MD as the wife didn't like them and prefers Oats so simple instead.

I on the other hand think Porridge is paper mache, and is utter stodge. However i know it is good for you!

My BC of choice and has been for the last year is Fruit n Fibre, and i have to say prefer Sommerfields version to Kellogs.

Porridge is defo king but needs to be cooked slowly in a pan and consumed quickly before heading out on a 2+hr cycle nothing keeps you going like it.

They said if you have 2 bowls per day, you'll loose 1 jeans size in a fortnight... I wanted to loose 2 jeans sizes, so had four bowls per day....

Oatibix bitesize (full size ones go soggy too quick) with a sprinkling of raisins on top.

Keeps hunger locked up 'til lunch!

Variety is the spice of life in our household.

Depending on the bowel habits of the Mrs and I, we go for branflakes on a fortnightly rotation with something a little more exciting. My personal fave are Cornflakes of the Crunchy Nut variety. Cheerios have been consumed in the past, but my anti-Nestle purchasing side won't allow them to be bought.

'Oats so simple' ain't bad, but porridge is clearly a winter food. However, having one's morning oats in a pre-packaged, "Stoats porridge bar" is acceptible for year-round consumption
