I know that eBay is seen by many of you as a total minefield but this car is in Aberdeenshire. Do you think it's even worth going to see? At least this way I know it's been crashed rather than assuming! The guy selling it doesn't really sound like an enthusiast and why only keep it 4 months, a bit worrying but is it worthy of a viewing?

Thanks.

Agreed, quite steep but would offer around 6.5 if it was any good.

Not even worth 6 in my opinion. There was a white straight car on PH last week at 6295!

As for 4 months of ownership well theres more than a few of us here who have had affairs with Lotii lasting less than that

Small world.

I actually bought the car for John Duthie a few months ago, but he just does not have time to use it with the garage business which he is now expanding, and also AA recovery.

It is an absolute cracker of a car, an early original '96 S1 with 24,000 miles, MMC brakes, beautiful paintwork and interior, probably as good as you will get. Many of us would not bother about the CAT D side, it was only really bodywork and properly repaired, and the price is now as low as an S1 is likely to go.

However you may know what price I got it for him, though as a car dealer himself, he would be negotiable.

I would have liked to have seen him keep it, but there is no way that he would have been able to use it as it deserves.

Sorry, twould not be fair to tell you that, as I made the deal, he is a good friend, and along with Ricky, does all of the work on my car now.

I'm with JJ. AndyG paid less than than for a mint P reg S1 so it's not worth anything like that IMO.

Whatever you pay for it in that range you are not going to lose money. Buy it, drive it and enjoy it.

I recon that if you sell it in 2 years you would lose less than the price of a set of Advans.

2p :thumbsup

Go see it, drive & see what you think. Remember, you're prob best not to buy the first one you see... so trying a few won't do any harm, and if it is perfect... then you never know.
