Nice resteraunts near edinburgh playhouse
Hi folks,
I'm giving into the girlfriend and taking her to a show at the playhouse. As a valentines treat ( i have forgotten for the past 3 years- oh well ) i'm planing a nice meal aswell.
Any ideas on nice restaraunts, serving italian, or traditional food ( no chinese or indians ) nearby the playhouse????
Doesnt need to be overly expensive or flashy as she wants to go for the theatre, this is just an extra.
cheers folks

Try this place, a wee bit different, its the Broughton St one thats the nearest
http://www.smokestack.org.uk/
And it is only a 2 min walk away from the Playhouse.
Now that you've prompted me, better look into getting something organised for the wife.
cheers

food good, we went with friends enjoyed it, looks good too (you know impressive, makes the girl friend think you've spent a lot of money on the treat) and its really not that dear.
It being a chargrilled place, better if you both eat meat (not a lot of choice for the veggies).
'course if you want to spend a fortune to impress her, Harvey Nicks, is just up the road, food there is good, but by god you pay for it.
enjoy.....

Yar, I didn't want to offend but 'Smokestack' is a running joke in our office.GregR wrote:Smokestack is right opposite my office - I find their food bland tbhPat02 wrote:Try this place, a wee bit different, its the Broughton St one thats the nearest
